I clipped the wire at the terminal, stripped the wire and crimped on the spade connectors and plugged those into the new speaker

Sorry, I didn't take any photos, but it's only two wires, the one going to the terminal with a capacitor is positive

Does anyone know why my audio fades in and out after the upgraded speakers and sub? It randomly does it for like 1 to 2 seconds then goes back to normal, but there are times it happens more on certain songs. Just wondering if anyone have the same issue and had resolved it? I have the group buy hertz front and back speakers, stadium 5 channel amp and 10tw1 installed on 2018 tundra crewmax NON JBL.

A song would be playing then all of a sudden volume/sound cuts off for 1-2 seconds then resume back to normal volume. Happens random, but there are times it usually happen more on certain songs. All connections are secured. Did notice it happening more on songs with heavier base.

Yeah I got the speakers, stadium 5 channel amp and sub upgrade on a non jbl system. Did the install as per instructions and with your assistance during the install. What are the prompts you mention?

I think maybe he is referring to normally audible prompts from your phone or audio source. Like say a text message, or email, or navigation instruction

Mine is doing the same...there is "muted" audio coming from the dash speakers when it happens, no prompts on truck screens or bluetooth-connected phone that would be causing it and all connections are secure as well.

That's weird. I never had issues when I replaced my speakers and sub. Still no issues with kenwood headunit, maestro, and JL amp

It seems that the amp is cutting out for some reason, when it happens the dash and center speakers still play sound, but all speakers going through the amp cut out for about 2-3 seconds. I tested this by removing the power lead for the amp and I still get sound out of the dash and center speakers, so these must still be powered by the HU.

No loose connections, and it happens when parked as well as moving.

Happens during all types of music, but completely random.

Happens couple of time within the first minute or two of starting up the truck.

Phone prompts such as txt msg and email are loud and clear, no messages on phone or truck console / radio screens when sound cuts out.

Question for you guys. Just Installed the door speakers. Front woofers and tweeters work. But the rear woofers work and the rear tweeters don't? Any suggestions

Idk about your 2010 but in 3rd gens you need to put a jumper wire on the rear tweeters to get the speakers to work back there. Any pics of your back door speakers/wires? @Ronlara26

I have my Kenwood installed to finish off the system but when there is no music playing but the volume is turned up there is a noticeable “hiss”. Not as noticeable when driving but very when just the engine isn’t running. It gets a little more pronounced when you turn up amp gain or enable sound enhancement features on the head unit like loudness or stage EQ. Any ideas?

Any particular source input worse than others? I have read some tunes kenwood have some bluetooth hiss, unfortunately I'm not sure of how to fix that. If it goes away or is quieter when using a wired connection or listening to the radio its likely the BT connection.
Another possibility is interference in the RCA cable. Make sure its nor crossing over or too close to your 12V power wire, or running along any power wire.
I have some hiss when running pandora via BT but only noticable when no music is playing.

Maybe your Amp rear filter is set to LPF and filtering out the highs?

Haven't installed the amp yet, could that be the reason?

I'm not sure if you have a stock amp, like mine. My truck is Non-JBL and I still had a stock amp under the passenger seat. If the tweeters are hooked up to the same wire as the woofer, you should be getting something...it might not be much or it might be filtered out somehow.

Did your truck have rear factory tweeters? If so those wires need to be jumped or left connected at the plug, just yank the tweeter off the plug

My power wire is running into the cabin on the drivers side and when I installed the head unit I ran the RCA cables above the glove box and down along under the rocker panel cover and under the passenger seat where the amp is. So it’s nowhere near the power wire by design. I seems to be there on any source...usb, satellite, radio, or car play (don’t really use BT for audio, just phone) It doesn’t seem to degrade the music quality but I know it’s there and it bugs me! Lol

Non-JBL system with no previous amp. I'm hoping when I install the 5 channel it will fix it.

No rear factory tweeters. The rear woofers are working so in theory the tweeters should be working.

I did more trouble shooting and have narrowed it down to turning on the loudness setting of the radio. Which is too bad because it sound better with it on but it’s 100% what’s causing the hiss.

My hiss is bothering me more now that you've mentioned it lol. Maybe I'll turn down the loudness too and see if it helps

Do you have the sub/amp combo as well or just the door/dash?
