Recently got a BakFlip folding tonneau, so far so good except for one thing. It’s an MX 4 gen 2 I believe (CL find PO didn’t install due to getting wrong length) and at full fold against the back cab it has worn a couple of dings into the paint. First scratch is the hardest.... :(

I contacted the manufacturer and the said there should be some foam rubber pads in the kit to prevent this. They offered to send the parts free of charge, so they’re on the way.

I wonder if they’ll be enough, and if not does anyone have any experiences/suggestions?

I have the same cover and I use a couple of pieces of paint protection film on the area the cover contacts the cab. It has seem to work well so far.

I've got hte same cover and yes, there should be two pieces of foam that are about .5" wide (front to back), .75" tall and 3" long (side to side) that install on the frame of the cover where it touches the cab. I've had mine on for 4 months and have had it folded against the cab probably 30 times hauling stuff and no paint issues.

Install was easy for the foam. Hat tip to Truck Hero for their support. I think the paint protect film may be a good idea all the same.
