So I noticed the front parking sensors on my Platinum are only on the sides of the front bumper. I have NOT had them go off yet when parking nose in with a car/truck in front of me. Will it pick up a car in front of me? I'd hate to learn the hard way!!! Will it pick up a wall in front of me?

I tried to search but found no information on this.. hope someone can shed some light

It will not pick up a small car only a bigger car or truck that sets off the side sensors. Also it will not pick up a pole in you are parking nose in.

I have a 2008 with the same front sensor set up. Two up front, three in the back. Pulling straight in mine never catches anything directly in front of me.

They sure should have put one up there too in my opinion.

Same issue I have with my 2014. Parking straight into smaller front obstacle wont be picked up by front sensors on sides

They do pick up my work bench which is directly in front of the truck when pulling into the garage, though. As was said, it will pick up a larger vehicle in front of you.

Weird, Mine doesn't pick up my fence in my yard pulling straight up to it. Obviously will backing up to it, though.

This is a very bad design Toyota! I guess I should just back in everywhere I go. But then when I back In I have a hard time accessing my tailgate.... issues!

It seems like my front sensors are temperature sensitive. I get an error any time I come out to my truck when it is 40F or below or over 90F. Very annoying. Has anyone else had this problem?

No, I haven't experienced a parking sensor issue at either extreme of -40C and +40C. (-40F to 100F - welcome to Western Canada!)

My front sensors will alert randomly (like while driving) if some snow/ice sticks directly to them.
I have had to get out and clean them off a handful of times this winter.

Sometimes I just turn them off until I can clean them later when this happens.

It is annoying in general, but only happens (so far) during active snow/ice conditions.
