I had a key fob/push button start in my 16 Tacoma. I've never understood what the big deal was. Took me about a week to get used to using a key again when I got my Tundra. I dunno, I guess this is one of those non-issue things for me.

People are to the point where they dont want to reach in their pocket for keys I guess.

You may want to wait. The 2020 will have push button and smart key entry. Better to go OEM as long as the price isnt ridiculous. Would be a bummer to spend all that money now only to find out you could've done it with OEM less than a year later

I know this shouldn’t bother me as much as it does, but I’m an OCD guy who does a lot of custom work on my vehicles. My key and fob look like I drive a 90’s Camry. When I go to work parking is very limited. A lot of times I have to block people in and I leave my keys with security in case someone has to get out. They’ve looked at them and actually said, “these are the keys for that?”

I agree, having keys is so 10 years ago... like everything else toyota does.
I look forward to push button on my next truck for sure will be long overdue. The only thing that stops me from a retro fit is having a possible failure then not being able to start the truck, esp for those of us holding on to our trucks for a while. unfortunately i fall into this category

I did not like the idea of not having a key when I bought my Tacoma but the salesman said I would love it. He was correct. I drive all over the county during the day for work. Walking up and touch the door handle to unlock and then just push to start is kick ass. Especially when your carrying stuff. I got my Tundra and it took a few months to get used to getting the key out. Now point 2, my wife has push to start on her Honda and I like that if a creeper is around, she just grabs her door handle and it lets her in. Not saying it's a big problem around her, it's just an added benefit. I will be selling my 18 when the 21's come out and get a 20 at a good price. Maybe, I really like my truck right now.

    A LOT... NEVER ENDS
So I get it, its kick ass feature to have. But to outfit my current truck isn't a must FOR ME. To each their own. I've drove vehicles with it, doesn't make it a must FOR ME.

However, if the kit is a reasonable price I would consider it :D. Would we have to buy different handles and wire them in too so it would be a true keyless entry where you touch the handles to lock and unlock.

Now with that story said.... I did fall victim of remote start, best decision relating to my tundra thus far. Use it every day. I did at one time say the same thing that I wouldn't outfit my truck for remote start

All this said... riddle me curious on this outcome o_O

I fell in love with it on my wife's MDX. I don't even have to put hers in park, just pull up to the parking spot and push the button to turn it off, it automatically goes into park. And her split view camera is nice, 360 and the direction you are traveling when you push the button (auto comes on when in reverse). Technology has come a long way that's for sure. I was glad to get push button start on my car when I finally upgraded. We also are android users now so that's why I've been waiting for the 20s to hit the lot locally.

We had this on our 2007 Camry & have it on our 2015 Prius. I have left both running in the garage. Not a fan.

I’m not a fan of push to start either. And not all 2020s have it. I guess there are benefits to bring a tightwad at times.
