Plasti dip or spray on bed armor

I'm gonna be buying a color match trd pro grille and hood bulge from @Roman here pretty quick. My question is I'm going to either plasti dip or spray on beduty armor the bumper corners. What are your guys thoughts on both. Which is better, which would last longer etc

Do they make line-x in a spray can? I'll be getting after market bumpers eventually so I don't want to break the bank on this mod. Wanna DYI

 

someone painted his grill with something similar. seems to hold pretty good.

 

If you're gonna get aftermarket bumpers, I would just dip them. Cheapest, quickest, easiest way. But it's only gonna last a year or two.

 

Duplicator spray on vinyl if your trucks black.
Or just get them wrapped at a tint place.

 

Truck is blue but I want all chrome to be black. Like a matte black that the middle parts of the bumpers are if that helps

Dupli color would do great forgot about the bed armor (that'd give you the matte look)

He could always do rustoleum bed spray.

Would you suggest doing the whole bumper or would it be a pretty close match if I just do the corners

 

Hey Ron how cold or warm was it? I know with plastidip, temperature determines how clumpy it sprays. I dunk the cans in warm water before using it. I'm sure bed spray would be the same.

 

If I do go the bedliner route is there any prep for the chrome? Sanding, priming, etc and should I spray a couple coats of clear over at the end?

 

I'd sand with a 1000 grit and put down some primer. Don't see a need for a clear coat but it can't hurt

 

OK thanks. Think I should do the whole bumper or just the chrome? Never used the stuff before so I wasn't sure at how close it would come to the texture and color of our bumpers center plastic piece. Also what do you suppose the best brand to use would be?

 

Just chrome ends should do the trick.
Duplicolor, rustoleum, etc. I honestly haven't done enough to notice a difference between brands. I've used rustoleum on my bed nuts and have to keep reapplying them (but my bed sees a lot of action (giggle)) more than your ends would so not an issue.

Anyone have any input on how plastidip holds up in places with cold winters. Northern minnesota for example
