I'm retired and purchased my 2016 Tundra TRD Crewmax in August of 2018. It is a Factory Stock
Midnight Bronze Mica 4x4 with Factory 18" Tire's & Wheels.
I added electric running board's and a retractable tonneau cover.
The reason I purchased it was because my 2004 Tundra Double Cab was totalled in July of 2018.
It had 297,989 miles on it at the time it was involved in a head on collision.
My friends 2019 Tundra TRD Crewmax is totally Stock Factory.
It's Black and has the same Wheels and Tire's and is identical to my truck.
So any idea concerning RPM difference's ?

    Welcome from TX!

Are they the same engines? 5.7L and 4.6L are available.

    ?

Do you mean that your 2016 runs at different RPMs than your friends 2019?

Do they both have a tow package? Tundras that have a tow package have 4.30 gears in the rear. Non-tow package ones run 4.10s.

Also what the poster above said - same engine?

Yes both trucks have 5.7L Motor's and are both Tow Package Equipped.
    2019 at 80 MPH is ( 1400 RPM )
    2016 at 80 MPH is ( 2400 RPM )
Everything is identical according to all paper work and all technical data.

Are you certain that your's is going into Over Drive? Your not in Tow-Haul mode either?

Definitely sounds strange. Something is not right.

I think you are moving the shifter into the select position instead of stopping at Drive.
    By the way, Welcome
