ok so I got the kit from Amazon for our Tundras....9 bux LED kit...

popped the covers out and the aluminium shields...replaced the bulbs with LED..and nothing....even lost the rear dome which I didn't change the bulbs yet, thinking it blew a fuse when I swapped them...

anyone know which fuse it is ?

    thx

I bought Amazon LEDs, not a kit though. I identified the type and quantity and got them that way. I had zero problems whatsoever. Most were JDM brand.

    upload_2016-10-22_19-56-49.jpg

I also bought $170 VLEDs LED switchbacks that failed in just under 3 months.. Both socket adapters melted. I think you can blow a fuse when installing the dome light if you allow the bulb to contact the metal reflector.

Next time, pull fuse, plug in lights, put fuse back in. Then see which lights aren't on. Pull fuse again and reverse the lights that weren't on and put fuse back in. Should prevent fuse from popping.

I have had about 4 or 6 of the 10 LEDs in that $10 kit fail on me. Junk. The start by 1-3 leds flickering for a while then over time they are dead.

Best to buy things with either top build quality or a good return policy with guys like us!! LOL

Neither careful nor gentle. Works with plenty of things, just not new things!

I'm gonna guess the $13 ones are going to be about 30% better than the $10 ones. :notsure:

The idea that you need to pay $40 for good LEDs or $1000 for a good light bar is ludicrous. I have had Amazon LEDs, including headlights, in my wife's car for 4 years without a single failure. I have had the same JDM brand LEDs in my work provided car, which is a Prius, for 2 years without a single failure.

I'm not saying that all the cheap brands are great, but that there are less expensive options out there that are every bit as good on build quality and longevity as the overpriced, rebranded Chinese brands sold by resellers for inflated costs.

My favorite is the "made in the USA" LEDs that are actually parts made in China, assembled in the US.

I've had the $10 cheapos for one year and 1 just started flickering. Luckily there was an extra one in the pack for some reason. I'll probably buy another set and just replace one at a time as they fail. If they all start failing, I'll know it wasn't a fluke and then I'll look into higher priced ones when those run out.

the fuse was indeed shot. gotta find a spare one now and see if everything back up. If not I might have another blown fuse.
