Why don't I see any TSS tundras?

I'm in Indianapolis Indiana. No TSS's on any lot, or on the road. Is it a regional thing? Btw, at the dealership where I bought my Limited, a 2017 TRD Pro was on the lot and sold in 2 days.

It's a Gulf States Toyota package, so it's not surprising that you never see them. I've only seen one TSS in real life here in CO.

Ok. Makes sense. My only other question is why?

Why only a gulf state package? This seems like the only regional package. Are there others?

Personally I wouldn't want to put TSS wheels through winters up here in PA, I don't think the finish on them would hold up very well with all the salt of the roads.

Does TSS stand for Texas State Special edition?

The XSP and Texas Edition packages are a few of the other regional ones , there are probably at least a few more that I don't know about. Kinda surprised that I've never heard about Mountains States Toyota having one.

I've never seen a real life TSS or an XSP-X. Are both from the same region?
And what the hell does XSP-X mean? I like them though.

I see TSS all over Texas. It is a Gulf States Region package from what I've been told.

I like the chrome 20's and the black ones. All depends on the flow of the truck.

XSP-X is the "Extreme Sport Package" whereas the TSS is "Toyota Sport Series" and yep most of them come from the Southeast region.

Nah. I have plenty of friends that like chrome on a truck up north. More likely a personal preference thing.

I'm all about aesthetics. I can't stand all blacked out with chrome wheels, or all chrome with all black wheels. If you have a little chrome (bumpers, badges) but black steps, then black machined rims look great.

Exactly. I try to tie everything together. Black mirrors, black door handles, and black "tape" on the B pillar, so I tinted the windows dark and added black Pro badges. Then, I did black wheels (to match aforementioned items) with machined accents to tie in with the chrome bumper end caps. I added the color matched hood bulge and grill surround with the Pro grill, which again matches all the other black pieces parts and the middle section of the front bumper, and I'm not retrofitting the lights because the chrome housing ties in with the bumper caps (and I can't decide if I like retrofitted lights with chrome reflector bowls). It's all about aesthetics. To me, all color matched doesn't quite look as good, unless it's black. "Murdered Out" Tundras look sweet.

I see TSS tundras rather often in Virginia. Even though I know they did not come off lots here. the type of black wheels on them look out of place (pro wheels would be cool). Idk if its because I am so a custom to seeing black wheels with chunky tires now a days or what.

GST/SET dealers are a region unto themselves. GST is the second largest franchised distributor for Toyota. They have 154 dealers in 5 states, which basically means they can do what they want with vehicles. This includes coming up with their own "packages" chock full of aftermarket parts, and they slap a Toyota part number on them. Any time you see a part number beginning with 00016, for example, means it is an aftermarket part that SET/GST have put a part number of their own on.

that's interesting. I"m curious what manufacturer supplies the TSS rims and steps, and where they're made. Possible to get info on that?
