hello, I am wondering what your thoughts are on this undercarriage rust

    81k miles

mind you, the frame has been replaced and zero rust on the outside

carfax maintenance records indicate that the previous owner took great care of the vehicle

the engine looks almost brand new

    thank for you the input

edit: I want to purchase this truck - I brought it for a quick inspection and the guy said it was typical rust and nothing of concern, but he knows the dealer so I'm wary of his motives...

It really depends on how much they want for it. Those brakes and that rear axle look really bad. I'd have to see it in person but my initial thought is "pass". Again, unless it was a smokin deal. Some of those rusted parts are cheap to replace but others(like the rear axle) are not.

yep bank account is running low from it..
If I was me keep looking.

If you don't mind replace alot of parts sanding and re painting the rust areas on the cab.. alot depends on your level and how much time you want to put into it.

Looks like the peripheral parts (outside of frame) may be on the edge of unsalvageable. Pass unless its a great deal and you can do the repairs.

I'd say that's normal rust belt corrosion. Not great but not a death sentence.

See if they'll knock some off the price if you're willing to do the painting.

    Looks 'okay' to me.

As in, not great, but okay.

The frame looks fine and you could always take a wire wheel to the rust on the rear axle and re-paint it. Those coilovers, lower control arms, and leaf springs look sad though. Do you have a hammer and a chisel or punch?
