@ccdawnpatrol I've only been here for about 7 weeks now, but so far this is what I've noticed: In the cities, snow tires don't seem to be necessary. They do a pretty good job of pre-treating & plowing roads quickly. A/T tires with a snow rating should be sufficient - all of our fleet vehicles at work run cheapo A/T's.

I'm running General Grabber X3 MT's which have served me quite well. They get a bit squirrely if I hit ice, but I think that's going to be the case with most tires unless they're studded.

I have lived in Utah my whole life had cars, 4x4 ECT. Good tires do help I have run mud tires to street tires. The roads are usually so busy the snow gets packed fast and turns to ice. The secret to driving in snow ice imo is driving slower learning to judge how far to start slowing down for stops turns all that stuff. And I'm sure being here you have learned this fairly quickly

Might be going on a road trip to Sandy, UT, in April. We dont have the exact days yet, though it will be a Friday and Saturday. Any of y'all want to try to get together one of those days for a quick beer or something?

Cool! Like I said, they haven't set a hard date for the rifle tournament yet. Hopefully some of us can meet.

Yeah man! Just keep me updated. I know a few of the dudes here I could get a hold of to come out. Especially if you're okay with coming down to salt lake.

Anyone know of any Utah, preferably Salt Lake valley, shops that will use the Techstream tools for good! Meaning they might be willing to turn off my seat belt alarm!

I love going to Utah for the outdoors and scenery. Recently got back into fishing and was looking into “boulder mountain” to do some off-roading, camping, and trout fishing. They say there are approx 80 lakes and reservoirs. Seen all kinds of impressive videos on YouTube but almost none give location(s). Wondering if anyone would be willing share. Any info would be helpful.

This video is what got me wanting to go

Anyone gone to the Salt Flats and had to clean off the salt/silt? Got any recommendations? I tried a vinegar and water mixture and it worked fine. TIA

Hit an elk and trashed my lights. Posted in local Toyota FB groups as well:
Free to anyone who wants the internal parts. Checking for interest before trashing.
2015 Tundra headlight retrofit with morimoto projectors. Just got the lights back from the collision center. Everything was functional when it was dropped off but the shroud on the left light was hanging. During removal the shop also dislodged the shroud on the right side and paint is scratched. Unknown if they broke or were knocked off. The left headlight is trash, the right may be salvageable depending on how bad the inside is scratched by the shop. Based on everything else they did I assume this light is trash as well but the tabs are all good.
Parts list in the photos plus picture of how they looked when built.

Reviving the thread. Went out by delle a week ago. Had to hit the usual fun spots. Hopefully the first trip of many after my front suspension build. The west desert is nice right now. Just enough time to have fun before it's all under water.

I know of the delle but don't have experience there. Wouldn't mind a PM with more info. on the "usual spots".

Not too many usual spots. There's just roads out there that go in every direction. It all depends what you are looking for. The one thing I will say as a blanket statement is that if it's wet at all I'd find higher ground. If the ground isn't frozen then it's muddy and the mud sucks out there. It also gets warm enough pretty much year round to unfreeze the ground during the day if sun hits it. I mostly just go out there to shoot and explore.

You have a good chance of seeing antelope, cows (winter range), and some rabbits. Anything above the flatland is about shoreline level for old lake Bonneville so you can see some interesting rocks and if you know where to look maybe a fossil. I don't know of any good trails out there, but there are some good views and fun roads for maintaining 50-60mph if you're careful.

No it still applies, but there's more to it here lol when I rode motorcycles we used to say "when in doubt throttle out, it may not fix the problem but it will end the suspense."Lol
