Odd wear pattern?

    My rear brakes started squeaking within the last week mostly the passenger side. Due to rotate tires so today or popped off the rear caliper to check things out and the pads are work at an angle instead of evenly. This common on our trucks? This is the original gear, 46k miles and never touched until today.IMG_20190512_152852965_HDR.jpg

    wow ! never seen that before..Maybe one of the caliper pistons were stuck.

    The rear is a single piston so I'm not 100% sure on it being stuck, slide pins had factory grease and no signs of contamination. As you can tell from the pic the wear is pretty much limited to the rear of the caliper side pad so maybe it was stuck, I didn't bother to pull the driver side once I saw I'm going to need pads. Will be interesting to see if the driver side is the same way or not. You guys think I'm gonna need to replace the rotor with the way that's worn?

    It is normal for a single piston caliper to have a slight bias in pad wear, to the pad on the piston side.
    I'm on the fence with angle wear. I would suggest inspecting slide pins for signs of seizing/galling, and if nothing noted move on.

    Slide pins were in great shape, no corrosion and still had factory applied lube. Looks like I will just order some new pads and be done with it.

    Our trucks are notorious for having slide pins stick. Take them out every 30k to be cleaned and lubricated. Especially if you take it off road.

    Common wear on Toyota rear pads especially trucks/SUVs slide pins can stick a little as well as the rotors like to warp
