I know the best thing is to view in person on a dealers lot. The brochure is sorely lacking when it comes to pics. Seems like all they want to show is the high end crewmax's. Is there another place to view pics? I would like to see some of the DC. I was leaning towards a DC since I no longer have kids. Power rear slider may be the reason I go CM.

I've heard a lot of guys say, if you need the extra bed space, go DC. If you dont, go CM. I have a '16 CM and love it! I like the extra cab space and I'm not big on the long bed look.

Just for reference, a DC Tundra has a little over 1 inch more rear leg room than your Tacoma has. If you are happy with the amount of leg room you have now, then the DC would be fine. The crew max has about 10 inches more than your Tacoma.

I have the DC and most of the guys I work with always wanna take my truck to lunch. Havent ever had any complaints about leg room, but the CM certainly has more room for activities.

I also prefered the extra bed room so i could have a toolbox and still fit my 4wheeler in the bed when I need to pull something else on a trailer.

I do miss the power rear window that my first gen doublecab had though.

If you want a big overpriced car with an open trunk, you want a family friendly CM so you can tow things.

If you want something practical & useful for loading lumber, firewood, garden tractors, etc, the least you want is a DC, otherwise you'll need to buy a utility trailer which must be registered & licensed before you can use it on the road.

If you do serious hauling you want the regular cab with an 8' bed.

In short, it's all about your lifestyle.

I had the power rear window on a Ford and it was very nice backing the boat up at night. That is all I really used it for. If the Crewmax had fold flat seats like the Tacoma does I would go for it. I prefer the fold flats since mine are that way 99%. I do like the extra 1' of bed on the DC and since I rarely all passengers the interior space is not really a concern. I would never buy another regular cab because I use the back seat to haul rifles and other stuff. The only time that the rear seat on my Tacoma has ever been up was when I took my daughter and friend to Fl..

its nice to have the CM rear seats space in case you need to keep things inside the car and out of prying eyes
the rear window feature is great. I use it all the time here in California.

If you get a DC, there's even room underneath the seat for a storage unit that holds 2 rifles. DUHA makes it and there are a couple pics in my build thread of them installed in my DC.

Yup backing up a trailer at night or even backing up to hook up to one was my main concern when I realized the 3rd gen DC's didn't have the power rear window like my 1st gen had. I also had limo tint on my 1st gen so it was impossible to see at night without the window rolled down. I find that on my 3rd gen even with the 20% tint that I have it is still really easy to see out of the back window at night and even more-so if you installed some LED reverse lights in the bumper or swapped the ones in your taillight assembly out with LEDs.

No need for rolling down a rear window for backing up. All Tundras (and soon all cars as required by law) have backup cameras.

Backup isn't a problem with the cameras being required.

But I would assume since you have no more kids, grandkids are a possibility in the future? Not to mention the power window is awesome even with a camera. UnderSEAT storage is available in both DC and CM's although the DC is deeper and longer (as opposed to the three separate storage bins for the CM)
It all depends on your lifestyle brother.

Both are great looking trucks! They're tundras!!! LOL

Backup camera works great on Tacoma unless I have a trailer hooked up. Then it is worthless

Hahahahahahahaha oh yeah, I ran out of room in my dresser so I decided to use my under seat storage.
It's all about ingenuity. You go on a long trip......you don't need to pack. Why? Underwear storage baby!!

    Boom.

I would like it a lot better with a cover. My rear seat has been flooded flat since day one. Guns, tools, clothes bag and other junk is all that rides back there.
