Linex put to the test today

so I’m waiting for my co-worker to come out of the store and an old lady in a Cadillac suv pulls into the spot on my passenger side and tags not only the bumper but the fender flare as well. I jump out and say “you just hit my truck” to which she replies “no I didn’t”. And her friend says she heard something but where’s the damage?!? I take a look and not a mark anywhere, no dents, nothing. Got in the truck and peddled out of there before she had a chance to back out and hit it again. Doing the front bumpers ASAP!!!

 

yep. mine have been solid. I have both front and rear....just because of the old ladies..ha

 

It really didn't cost much in the scheme of things and I cut the rears for Pods as well so it was the best option from a rust prevention standpoint and overall protection and it looks damn good too.

 

I have it in the bed and all the way around the body about 8 inches up the side. Wife hit the Crewmax a decade ago right after I bought it. Most of the side got repainted but I had to have a door re-done twice due to paint issues. First time, bubbling. Second time, decent sized chip on the lower edge. Then the chip on the lower edge happened again. This last time I saw it again was like 10 years after the first paint job. Didn't want to go back to the body shop and argue to have him re-do it and muck it up again and risk problems spreading to other spots on the panel that were OK. Also didn't want to pay out of pocket for a repaint at the shop I use now. So I had Linex done all around the lower panels of the truck to just above the problem area. They scuff then put on a primer/rust inhibitor for that sort of job. Has looked good without lifting or fading anywhere for 2 years now and saved me probably 1500 or 2000 dollars over another repaint of the door with blending.
