Installed a USB-C/USB port in one of the many lighter outlets we have. Took about 30 total. Had to change one of the connectors as the positive didn't fit the new receptacle.

Dropped the truck off for the lift/wheels/tires; color match stuff is in the garage; front sway bar, rear sway bar, and morimoto fogs on the way. Once I sell the stock wheels I'll be ordering the 2019 Pro headlights from Sparks and @iHacker harness.

I've spent the last couple weeks removing Plasti dip on my wheels and badges, and got my TVD Vinyl overlays to tame the chrome a bit.

Here's the rear chrome/black inserts that I bought at the dealership but dipped a while back. Looks better now:

As a bonus, I emailed Rich at TVD about getting an insert to kill the front facing chrome on the iForce badge and said that is coming out soon.

First, I apologize for not having enough pictures...this was a really fast project I did on my lunch hour today, but I think I took enough pics to where you get the gist.

I saw the wireless charger JRT was selling at tech12volts that goes under the AC controls, and eliminates the cupholder. Pretty nifty, but running chores on the weekends, my wife and I bring our stainless tumblers and keep them filled with cans of pop, and that cupholder is one of the places we store a can, so I didn't want to eliminate it. Plus, the tech12volts option is a little pricey for my taste at $90. Finally, I already have the center console wireless charger mod, and when my wife comes with me to do said weekend chores, she always uses my wireless charger . So I have to plug my phone in.

So, check out the below. Total cost was about $35. The way I have the charger oriented allows for my wife to put her phone down (an iPhone 8 regular), BUT does not allow me to put my iPhone XS Max in the same direction. I tried to lay down my iPhone long-ways, but it wouldn't connect. Doesn't matter to me though...I got my center console wireless charger back! So, the way I've oriented the charger, it'll only work for the smaller phones, not "Plus" or "Max" (don't know what Samsung calls their bigguns). I could probably have oriented the charger long-way to accommodate the larger phones, but then the phone would cover part of the cupholder, which I didn't want.

The first pic is a cautionary tale about not dropping your $#!t above an exposed center trough! That red thing is my pry tool! :annoyed: Gone forever unless I ever decide to completely remove the entire center console. It'd have to be a pretty impressive mod for me to to that

As you can see, the neat thing about this mod is the surface you're going to mount the charger to doesn't need to be ground down like the center console wireless charger mod...nice and smooth.

Regarding the wireless charger, here's the model, the same I used in the center console wireless charger mod. I didn't take a pic, but I removed the 4 tiny screws on the back of the charger, and pried the top face of the charger off, so the coils are right up against the surface you lay the phone down on. Also, a pic of the charger duct-taped to the tray.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D2CWBS1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here's the hard-wire adapter to tap into your cigarette lighter, and a pic of where I tapped into.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y4PD3N3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

End result, a pic of my wife's iPhone, chargin' up. FYI, on the raised "ribs" you lay the phone down on, I put down a very thin layer of clear silicon sealant, to prevent the phone from sliding.

I hope someone finds value in this post, thanks Team Tundra!

Nice write up! I'd love to do this but I have one of Samsung's bigguns and don't wanna give up that tiny cup holder. I did the one in the arm rest with that exact charger but my phone won't connect with the case on, and it's not even a thick case, so it's kind of useless unless I'm on a long road trip and don't mind my phone being naked for a while.

I was worried about my case as well on my iPhone XS Max, but then I went on Amazon and googled cases that are compatible with wireless charging, and found a great rugged case that even comes with a clip. Maybe they have a model for your Samsung?

I'll look into that! I may end up just moving the charger to that spot and seeing which I like best or if one charges better than the other. I don't think my other half rides with me enough to justify two chargers.

The silicone thing is brilliant. I was going to pull that off and plasti-dip it to prevent sliding. Does that cup holder just pop off or is there more to getting to it?

Man! I could not figure out how to get that panel back in either. Never though the clips themselves rode on the panel. I fought for 20 min trying to figure out how to get the panel to slide back into those clips still attached. Thanks for the tip!!!

You have to pull off the trim around the shifter first (a small square piece you'll see in one of my pics), then pull off the entire surround (a much larger piece, center console lid will need to be OPEN when you do this), which includes the flat area where you lay your phone down next to the small cupholder. Two pieces to remove, that's it (well, plus the panel so you can tap into the cigarette lighter). Use plastic automotive trim pry tools, like the one my center trough swallowed!

Took it my local Dealer for 10,000 mile Oil and Filter, rotate tires deal.I'll return in 5,000 more miles for rotation.I had no problems at all with Dealer service,as a matter of fact I asked if they could adjust tailgate as it had more of a gap on passenger side and Tech said looks like someone reversed catch. He took care of it,looks great.

I bought the VLEDS switchbacks (bulbs only) for my 2018, and they didn’t work, i.e. the white didn’t stay on. Luckily they have a great return policy.

Sounds to me like you need to be the guinea pig on the Headlight Revolution setup Dennis!! ;)
