Being the overly thrifty person I am (my wife has a different term for that) I decided to try something different for storage in the bed. Tie downs, some gloves, hats and other stuff that I don't need regular or immediate access can go into these. I've seen the swing out storage but the $200 price tag each was more than I could justify right now. I just don't use a lot of this stuff all the time for that cost.

As I was ordering new tie down rings for the bed from the surplus site some others have recommended I noticed these bags. Around $10 each plus shipping for the order. I also did get some of the cotton web straps to hang the larger bags.

    https://armysurpluswarehouse.com
http://armysurpluswarehouse.com/military-issue-vehicle-cargo-tie-down/ $4 if you need them
    http://armysurpluswarehouse.com/canvas-bag-danish/ $10
http://armysurpluswarehouse.com/military-issue-web-strap/ $2 each and two per Danish bag
    http://armysurpluswarehouse.com/vintage-military-german-bread-bag/ $13

You can get about 4-6 of the small ratchet tie downs into the Bread Bag if you are neat and roll them up. A LOT more can go into the Danish bag. Its just one big compartment. The web straps simply just hang over the standard bed rail. I have a BAK Revolver but this should work with stock rails also. Obviously this is NOT WATERPROOF. Things seem to stay pretty dry under the BAK cover and with them hanging they should get air around them to dry of there is any moisture. You can see below that one large and one small bag fit easily on each side. Mix and match to your preference. The small bag just has some cheap spring clip type hooks on them and they clip into existing holes in the rails.

So for about $30 per side with shipping you can get some pretty good storage available.

Just thought I would share.

Great Idea. I have a tonneu cover and a bedslide, this is a great solution to add storage. Where did you get the brackets to hold the bed rail?

I was too "overly thrifty" to get a sprayed on bedliner so I bought a Toyota bed mat like yours.

The brackets are the standard "with rails" option on the BAK Revolver for mounting. Like I said, hanging the bags off the rail even in the stock position should not be an issue. The small bag just clips in and the larger bag straps should be thin enough to fit under any cover. (I think)

Subscribed. I gotta break down and get the BAK brackets and then do the Uni-Strut rail addition. It just pisses me off that BAK brackets are about $60.
