Super cool article. What would I have to do to get one of those custom emblems for my tundra?

Mitsubishi Electric Works. As you know, it's amazing how smooth the Shin ride is at a bazillion kilometers per hour.

Toyota has a huge line of products but that doesn't mean I need to mention every product they make, that would be another topic perhaps.
American car companies were great and somewhere in the 70's quality and design began to downgrade = /
Personally I'd like to see American cars have the same quality standards as they were in their golden age.

Triple diamond in many ways is about the size of Toyota if you look at there tree...

As for the shin... French TGV is still king. Tho I think French are in a pissing contest with themselves anymore. Maybe Japan will try again? . but I do give them great credit on speed and safety in there trains in Japan and the French.. both have had mishaps, both learned and got faster and better.

This is my opinion, but I truly believe Toyota is vastly more successful than most companies because of the fair price they ask for their products. Any american car manufacturer asks thousands more for a comparable truck. A platinum tundra in Tennessee isaround 8-10k cheaper than a LTZ chevy or a King Ranch F-150.

One thing to note is sadly most of Japan's railways are not government property but privately owned companies, Japan Railways (JR) owned most of them (90% I believe).
On a positive note JR has done an amazing job at maintaining and upgrading their trains, train stations and service.
World class train system that the government lines couldn't do

    True true,

Low prices also come from years of research and careful planning of their automotive plants.
I had the pleasure of visiting their automotive plants and they are extremely organized they plan and assemble these cars very quickly.

Japan regulates which foreigners can enter and possibly stay. And "they"watch them. No PC bs in Japan. As for the Shin, still King, like Yeti , the first, copied, safe, and you don't have a chance to get some ISIS sympathizer on board. If you have ever lived in Japan, like I did for over 4 years you would understand that Japan is a mountainous country, not to mention serious f**king earthquakes, unlike French fry land and braut land. You can only go so fast safely. There will no doubt be even faster JNL trains where it's safe to do so. The Japanese do have maglev technology. For quite some time by the way. No sense fixing something that's not broken.

Matt you do know the TGV goes outside of France right? It has a big network..

I do give Japan credit don't get me wrong .. maglev takes so long to build vs rail system in place... problem with both systems are... they require too much power and power must be in blocks or sections.
Plus you must have power grid system near the rails.. unfortunately I wrote a paper on this about 10 years ago to my professor on this technology and made my point.

Look at America we suck ass to both TGV and maglev technology...

You are right. Though Japan does have the needed power requirements ten fold, problem is it's mostly nuke sourced energy, and that does not mix well with tsunamis and nuke waste storage. Not too mention limited space. You can be driving down a street like I did with my Toyota Starlet, (please don't let anyone know that) and the street all of a sudden becomes wide enough to walk thru. Sucks backing up in that situation. Really sucks. Believe me.

I read a little about how inefficient Japanese cars were in the beginning mainly because the difference in weather. Early Japanese cars would overheat in the hot desert American weather.

Stopped in Japan to refuel on the way to Vietnam but didn't get to see much. If I was to get a chance to visit a foreign country Japan would be my first choice and that museum would be on my list. Thanks for the post, loved it! I've personally owned 2 Camrys, 3 Tacomas, and I'm on my first Tundra.
