I just received and email from the sales manager at Magnuson. He said they are in final tuning stages for a release for the 18+ models in the next two weeks! If any of you are interested give them a call to be put on the call list for first crack at them. Or PM me and I’ll give you the contact info for Manguson’s sales manager.

I’m excited. I just hope this isn’t a money pit (the movie) answer. When will it be done? Two weeks!

Can someone that has a super charger please explain what it exactly did and would you do it again? Are there reliability issues long term?

I've towed my boat with a buddy's SC'd 3rd Gen. He's towed his boat before and after.

I kept it out of boost as much as possible. On big hills it was really nice to tap into boost and not lose speed.

110k mi on my tundra with 50k of them supercharged. Still strong. Love it so much I will spend the extra money when I buy my next Tundra. 14mpg city and as high as 18mpg hwy with 430 gears.

THats pretty good. Do you do any towing? I'm sure it has only enhanced the experience for you if you have.

I've towed with and without the SC and there is a huge difference. With the SC you don't have to "build some momentum" before hills, it just goes right up! I tow ~8.5k#'s and there it's a dream... If you go SC, you should upgrade your brakes too. I just got my TRD BBK with the 40% sale last month, can't wait to get them on!

I haven't had an opportunity to tow with it yet but that will change this summer. I also have the TRD big brake kit with 16" drilled and slotted rotors.

Same question here (reliability). How does the transmission, drive shaft, U-joints, differential hold up to 476 horsepower over the long term?

I had one on my V-8 4Runner. I bought it because Toyota tested it for 400 hours straight with wide open throttle on rollers. Not a single component failure.
The reason I bought my Tundra is because most components are over built and can handle more power with no issues.

Those big 4 door Tundra really need the extra power to move all the extra weight, installing one on my relatively light 4900 lb RWD 2 door short box would make it a tire shredder. Enjoy the wait, and keep us posted.

    Not sure about the headers.

It sounds to me that Magnuson only covers the original warranty. If you have a lifetime warranty, it might be worth keeping all the stock stuff and swapping it back on if you ever have a problem. But i assume for an expensive repair, they would do some investigating before cutting a check for the repair. These motors rarely have catastrophic failures.

I thought it’s covered under any existing warranty if you have Toyota install it.
