I apologize if this thread exists elsewhere, so redirect me if it does, but does anybody know if remote start comes standard for the 2019 TRD Pro or if it is something you have to go to the dealer to have installed? I still cant understand how Ford has had remote start since at least 2011, and even has a designated remote start button on the key fob, yet toyota still cant offer it as standard on higher trim levels.

I have Fortin evo one on mine. Works well, took it out of my 14 Tundra to put in my 19. Only have one issue which might be a Toyota issue. I posted my issue on the forum.

Annoys me it’s not standard either or at least a better factory option. I had it standard back in 2007 in a GM vehicle.

I have the 12 Volt Solutions remote. Extremely easy to install. Plug-n-play as far as the truck goes. Like it a lot.
I do agree though that remote start should be standard equipment from the factory.

I don't believe the TRD's come with a remote starter. I had one installed by the factory, def a must add, espically during the cold of winter.

I have the factory remote start, but it’s frustrating that it shuts off when you unlock the doors.

That's what you get from factory. It's like that with our Subaru as well, it's a safety/security thing.

But my 16 Silverado I traded in didn't do that. Keeps engine on until I insert my key. Factory option.

I got this one. Cheaper than the 12 volt one and it requires no cutting or splicing. It was plug and play. The unit is a Fortin EVO One. You can add on the Fortin two way transmitters and a cell phone module if you want, but you need the Fortin Flashlink in order to turn these units on in the firmware.
Put them in your Amazon wish list. They go on sale all the time. I got the two way fobs for 84 bucks and the Audiovox cell module for 90.

Definitely doesn't come standard from Toyota and their version stinks. I went with the one below and it works GREAT no cutting or anything plugs right in took me longer to find a bottle opener for my beer than to do the install. I used the Fortin brand in the past and had issues this used the compustar controller which seems to be the better brand out there. I had a phone module from my old car they helped me get setup with this unit but I think they offer the same cell app too. Also doesnt shut down when getting in either like the wifes highlander but thats push start maybe thats the difference.

I’m thinking about buying this exact same one. Any issues with it? Also does the engine shut off when you open the door?
    Thanks!

I'm in my infancy with it but thus far, no issues. Bone stock you're limited to the stock range of your key fob, which is very limited. I was at Mt. St. Helens today and while hiking down a trail to my truck within clear line of site I couldn't start it at 50 yards. At my house I can start it in the driveway with no problem.

I've also noticed that you cannot activate the remote start with the vehicle running and remove the key to leave it running. I have the 2 way fobs but haven't installed them yet so that may remedy this.

It does not shut off when you open the door.

I have the compustar remote start and had the installer program the truck to start when I lock it 3 times with my standard key fob so I dont have to use the extra one it came with. It took them under 30 minutes to install.

Do you know if compustar is plug and play harness or do they cut factory wires?

I had it installed by DFW Camper in Mesquite, TX (http://www.dfwcamper.com/stores/mesquite/) so I'm not really sure. it was one of the cheaper options, but the installer said it was his favorite.

Did it myself. Super easy. One wire to constant 12v, one to ground.
You'll need the Fortin Flashlink module. You can borrow mine.
