I just noticed a few trucks and jeeps with an external/toggle switch cooling fan. Mostly I assume for the slow rock crawling and low speed off road stuff.
For me its mostly fire roads and the occasional traffic when towing the trailer to campsite.
Anyone here add an extra fan with a toggle to keep things a little cooler? Or is that overkill?

I thought about it for towing a heavy load through the Rockies, but the scientific data from my heat transfer engineering textbook shows that air only needs to move through the radiator at ~7 mph to get maximum cooling.

The stock fan is more than capable of moving that much air through the radiator and I figured that if I was moving that slow with a heavy load (traffic) I would be better off just pulling over and waiting for less congestion.
