I would say it's below average but my wife's Lexus infotainment system isn't that great either as its not very intuitive and laid out clunky however the sound system is pretty good. I rent a lot of cars for my work and have not ran across any that have really impressed me to be honest. I think my Challenger has the best laid out infotainment system I have used.

Infotainment systems (imo ofcouse) in general are pretty unimpressive across the board. I suppose there some out there that got it right but i cant say ive seen any or heard anyone brag about theirs.

The money you save buying and owning a tundra vs most other trucks out there could be invested into an amazing aftermarket info system. Way cheaper than what dealers want to charge for the oem ones, and can also be alot better in many cases.

Its weird when you see an oem system thats from the known brands like alpine, jbl, pioneer, ect... And the look good and integrated but after a while you start noticing features that arent there but they sure are on their aftermarket units and for cheaper... Bah... Drives me nuts.

Yo Challenger is my favorite Pony car you got pics of that bad boy and also not to Hijack the thread do you have pics of the infotainment as well.

Also OP, I hope you didn't take my original reply the wrong way I am just comparing mine in my SR5 to the vehicles I owned before not to the current year competition which I do agree the audio and infotainment is lacking too. I did not state its the greatest one out there.

Totally agree! They may not do anything else right but they sure did get the infotainment done right.

The infotainment on my Jag is trash. My Tundra is ok so far. Has not crashed on me yet like Jag does.

Can confirm on the Ford system. My wife had it on her Edge and it would randomly shut down at least once per day. The only way to reset the unit was shut it off and restart. It was total garbage.

Sorry I don't, long story but recently sold it. I know this is a Toyota forum so lots of cracking on Ford and FCA but I honestly never had one problem with the Challenger and it was a super fun car to drive. It had under 40k miles on it when I sold so cant speak of longevity but I would buy one again. I never owned a Ford so can't speak to the Blue Oval.

I'm hoping the new infotainment system will retrofit into the old Tundras. MY wife has Apple car play. Once you use it on a long road trips its hard to go back.

I think what is wrong with a lot of these systems are you have traditional head unit companies trying to basically learn how to build full computers and then program them. We had a "My Ford Touch" in a Ford Edge and it was total garbage. It was so bad even Ford's CEO got so mad at it he smashed the screen in a vehicle he was driving. Also, IMO I really don't care much for the navigation either. I would rather use Waze or just Google Maps instead of the Nav in the truck. Plus, they are free.

I recently purchased a Tundra. I think the infotainment system works pretty well. Its a bit dated but I find too many gizmos are just not necessary for me. I do wish the presets showed the XM channel name instead of the number. The numbers mean squat to me. I've had XM for 6 years and still couldn't tell you what channel number Classic Vinyl is on and its the main channel I listen to.

As for phone interaction, I use Siri to do all my calling and texting. Its totally hands free and works great. Hit the off hook button and Siri is waiting for a command. Simple. I have a Honda that has voice activation, nav and phone and I used Siri in it too. The voice recognition in the Honda isn't worth a crap. I say go home and it calls pizza hut instead of setting nav to go home. Siri understand me most of the time. If you have not tried using Siri with your system give it a try. I think they call it Siri Eyes Free.

I have nav in the Tundra too but I typically use waze for my driving navigation. The in vehicle nav is just a backup. Waze is much better at getting you there with the least traffic hassles.

Personally, I don't like the way an aftermarket HU looks in vehicles, particularly in the Tundra. So, I did most everything else you would normally do in a full system upgrade, but left the factory HU in place. Maybe when my truck is older and I care a little less about the appearance, it won't bother me that trim pieces are difference colors or shades of silver, and I'll upgrade the HU. Until them, I continue to use the factory HU. Fortunately, nobody that rides in my truck is picky with how it sounds...or they keep their opinion to themselves while listening to it.

I think the addition of ACP in the future will fix several of the current HU issues (interface, navigation, etc.) I love using ACP in my wife's BMW and really wish I had it in my truck.

Nah Toyota's is just awful. I've owned a 2014 Ford Focus ST, 2016 Ram 1500, currently a 2019 Kia Stinger, and all of them blew Toyota's audio out of the water.

Grew up with a mix of am only, am-fm only, and fancy 8 track cars. I had to eject the cassette, flip it, push fast forward, eject it again, flip it again just to rewind on my first car. Entune just a little better, lol.

Who are these people who still use Satellite Radio?

Spotify. Download all playlists...listen to almost anything on demand (even on an airplane with no signal, hence download). I dunno

I have SXM for new content, commercial free music that requires no time or effort to download is a bonus.

Spotify is the same, no commercials. I just download because I fly all the time and still have access to all my music. Otherwise it's still all instant access and new content.

The only requirement to download is to hit "download" and it does your whole playlist while you are doing other stuff. All I'm saying is, Satellite was great for a while but it's old tech IMO.

old tech is also online app and exclusive live content, whats the point of downloading a topical show a few days later?
