Just saw Apple Carplay retrofit for some 2018 Toyotas. Story here. Any word on Tundras being on the list for retrofit?

Not sure but i've had the same question. Was hoping i can get Carplay retro'd on my 2019. I think this comes to Tundra in 2020 so that would be much later this year before they hit the Dealer lots.

Didn’t they say that wouldn’t be possible for whatever reason?

I emailed Toyota about my 2019. Will not be possible they said. Went with a dasaita, couldn’t be happier.

They so missed the boat on this, IMO. Make it retrofit on damn near any 3rd Gen (and any other fairly recent Toyota model) and charge a subscription for the service. We’d be lined up around the block to pay their price...every...single...month. If they build it, we will come.

False. Software as a service sucks. Bmw cancelled that nonsense monthly fee for CarPlay crap.

Well the good news for all of us is that they have no clue what they’re doing when it comes to info-tainment in these trucks. Obviously not a deal-breaker in our buying decisions.

No, not a deal breaker but would be nice to have.

I have the extended warranty and i think replacement of OEM might void that one.

But i heard you gotta have your phone plugged in to run Airplay even on 2020s so that sucks big time

Can't say I'd care about losing warranty coverage on a piece I'm removing and replacing

I saw a 2020 in the showroom and the old FM antenna and XM antenna were replaced by a single shark fin. I’m sure there’s a new connector for that thing, and maybe why it would be hard to retrofit. I am enjoying my factory wireless charger I just installed though.

what dasaita did you go with and did you use maestro for steering wheel controls ?
Does dasaita have gauges like kenwood and pioneer ?

    Thanks.
