Although it was a long wait for my Expedition One front winch bumper to arrive, it was finally installed last Friday, along with a ComeUp 12.5 winch. The winch is IP68 rated, meaning it’s waterproof and fully submersible.

Bumper was ordered on Black Friday in 2018 (free shipping) and didn’t show up until the 3rd week in April. I chose to customize my light ports instead of having EXP1 do their standard cutouts. I went with 3 sets of Baja Designs, one S2 in amber, and two sets of Squadrons. The lights are wired into the cab via a SwitchPro module allowing pushbutton activation behind the gear shift.

I’m very happy with the fit and finish. The rear, dual swing out bumper goes on tmrw or Thursday. I’ve included some before and after pics.

Weird spot for Winch Access. Seems that any water will go right into the winch area vs. the ones in front that, at the least, seems to not allow water in from just sitting in the rain. Thoughts on the design of that, and your experience so far? Cannot wait to see rear. I was planning on the rear at some point, waiting for the $3200 to just get the rear.

    Looks amazing though!

The ComeUp winch is waterproof and fully submersible. IP68 rated. I just edited the post to reflect that.

Yes, Roger and his team have been really responsive. I wish I’d requested no light ports on the rear as they’re a weird size to fit fully. Would’ve preferred to do flush mounted Bajas back there.

Looks great. Ordered mine at the same time and received around the same time. I'm prepping mine for paint and still waiting for a winch, but hopefully get it all together soon. Like what you did with the lights. Good idea. I stuck with the PIAA cutouts.

Here’s a few pics of the rear bumper going in, today. Really stoked about the look and beef of all the rear components!

To just reach in? Glass door. Full thing means open swing outs, then drop the tailgate.

Nice work on the bumpers. Glad it worked out.

Which lights did you choose for the rear? They look good.

As Exp1 delivers the bumpers with some odd size 4.75” light ports, I went back and forth between a pair of Baja Squadrons, PIAA 530s, but finally settled on the octagon shaped VisionX DURA 400s. I preferred the way they filled the space. I found out yesterday that I could’ve ordered the rear with a custom port. Oh well.

Mine has the big cavernous ports, still vacant in the rear. I used BD squad sports in the front bumper, but haven’t found anything that’d look right for the rear. Thanks for the suggestion!

I almost went with the Squadron XL but it would’ve been a custom bracket scenario($$) and the light output was overkill so I just went with the VisionX.

Does anyone know if that bumper will work with the TRD Pro skid plate?

Bumper looks very well-designed for the truck, unlike a lot of others which tend to stick out or have weird lines.

I can tell you it doesn’t interfere with my RCI front skid. Those fwd mounting points under the frame are retained.

I like your style. Look like Expedition One changed the front loop a little. Maybe to clear collision sensors?

I just chose the low hoop option thinking it would be less of a headache with the front radar.

The low hoop of the Stormtrooper bumper doesn’t interfere with the TSS in any way.

Here’s a couple pics of the rear, dual swing out. I chose VisionX DURA 400s as the rear lights to fill the 4.75” ports.

Damn. I wasn't planning to do the ExpOne Rear until closer to Christmas (present to myself). But it looks like I'll have to order it now, if I want it then.

its better to have the access on the top.. its easier to get to the line... front access is ok, but not when your in the mud and having to put your hands in there to adjust the line. I always want to see the line. The winch (pretty much any of them) are fine in the elements and you want the line to dry out when you get it wet (don't cover them in other words, mold and mildew are worse for lines than UV since its a marine product anyway).
