Debadged my tailgate. Trying decide if I should do the door Tundra badge and SR5 door badges. I like the 5.7L V8 badge. Might dip that one. IMG_1833.jpgIMG_1829.jpg

Got my oil changed and tires rotated. Found out my tires are at 5/32s tread depth with only 23,000 miles on them. Is it just me or does that seem a little soon to be worn down that much?

If they are the tires from the factory that's about right.

Not from the factory, but they were brand new when I bought the pickup. They're BFG Rugged Trail ATs,P275/65R18.

Yeah those are terrible tires. 5/32 with 23k may get you to 35-40k.

No kidding, they're ok on the highway but suck off-road. If I'd of known anything when I bought it I'd of had them put different tires on.

Yeah, they are dubbed the "rugged fails..." my BFG ATs are getting down there, gotta figure out what to go with next. My next tire size is going to require a lift, we'll see if the wife notices...

Ok, finally got the pig cooker of a muffler cut out and replaced with the Spintech Custom muffler, made in America, out of Socal. I went the budget route as there were not a lot of options for my 4.7. Muffler and Tip. Will post pics and a short video. :D

Power seems to be the same but the fuel level usually hits 1/2 full at 150 miles and this 1st tank it hit 165.

I had cataract surgery last Thursday, and go in for the other eye next Thursday. Sitting around is getting old, but I'm not allowed to bend over at the waist or pick anything up heavier than 10 pounds for a while. I did, however, come up with a way to keep things from rattling in the cup holders. I remembered some adhesive backed foam weatherstripping that I had laying around and put it in the cup holder. No more noise if my coffee cup or water bottle move around.

Thanks, mine went from "we'll need to watch those" to "it's time for immediate action" in about a year. The left one is still settling in, but should be up to speed in a week or so. The other is the worst one and should react about the same. It'll be interesting to be able to see things clearly at a distance for the first time in over 50 years.

Dropped the pickup off at a local detailer to get a good wash and coat of wax put on er.

And trying to make a decision on the tires that'll be going on here soon. Narrowed it down to ST Maxx's in 295/70R18 or Ridge Grapplers in the same size. The former is $280 a tire and the latter $297. Decisions, decisions :annoyed:

Swapped out the crappy diff drop for a good one from Toytec. Think I've got my tires picked out. Not to Exo Grappler, 285/70/18. Thinking they are the biggest I can go with 2.5" lift and stock trd wheels. They're supposed to be great for snow and year round. They're also one of the only tires available in that size. Now I just have to convince the wife.

The only prep was removing it from the truck, cleaning it and then rubbing it down with a degreaser to get all oils and fingerprints off. After that, spray away. I did about 6 coats, give or take. Good luck
