Current plan is to NOT color match, NOT replace front or rear bumpers and NOT remove/black out the badges...

With that in mind, I think I found a wheel I like.

Talk me out of 'em (or confirm my bias that these'll work well ;) )

Love those wheels. They remind me of the Walker Evan's wheels I was looking at in the past. Now I'll add these to the list.

Crazy! I don't think they're new, but I've searched here and haven't hardly found anyone else with them (maybe one other set out there? maybe that's a sign?). Maybe we'll be among the first? Gotta keep this on the down low though... dont need everyone else and their mother jumping on the band wagon :D

I hate that all these off road wheels have to have these fake bead locks. Can we just get a wheel with a smooth lip/edge

I usually prefer a smooth lip, but don't hate the sim look either. And I've read/heard these wheels in particular come with a "scrub guard" that can bolt to the ring. Basically something to protect the ring for those of us that air down and run over some pretty severe rocks.

If true, then hey, those bolts aren't completely fake... or so I'll be telling myself ;)

While they look great, cleaning those wheels are a pain. They look like my Methods that I used to have.
Other than the cleaning issues I think they look great

I love that 90% of us on this site have lifts and off-road tires and spend 98% of our time on pavement and then 50% of those have the audacity to complain about “fake bead locks”.

Exactly why have fake bead locks if you don't need them? One they look out of place and two makes it more shit to clean around.

I have these on my tundra and really like them. I had originally seen them on a cement trd, but they were the gunmetal ones. If I could do it again I would go with the gunmetal they look better in my opinion.

Thanks for the info and pic. I think with keeping the chrome that the gunmetal would add another 'color', as its not a close match with cement. Adding more color is what has kept me from pulling the trigger on the all gummetal blem set of SR8s SCS has up for grabs.

I've got a machined set of these coming to the local Discount Tire. They're willing to let me look at them in person / mount one up on the truck before buying just to see what I see. Hard to argue with that.

Also something I was glad to hear is of all the wheels they sell, Vision seem to be among the top in terms of reliability; they tell me they haven't had any back for warranty issues. Given the relatively low price, that surprised me. In fact the manager there runs a set on his rig, as do several of his employees (different styles). They said they're kind of a well kept secret, at least in the non-Baja/rock crawler world. They just don't advertise/sponsor/chase business like the big boys do, outside of the niche markets.

    We'll see, probably next week.

By the way that scrub ring these wheels employ is a brilliant idea, in theory. Its a thick delrin ring that *should* protect the wheel and bead area against rocks, especially when aired down. I'm thinking if they do get scratched up it'll probably be really hard to tell (given the material) and even so, its a $30 replacement part if they get too bad. Much better than having ruined wheels. We'll see if the theory holds up one of these days, I'm sure...

    Thank you and you bet!

    Offset on these is +18.

The BR Chase wheel is nice. Don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

PS: Yep I'm a fan of those scrub rings. I bumped a few rocks last weekend that I'm positive would have resulted in some wheel damage, or at the very least tire bead scrub. Got home, looked, and nothing. This is a great idea that I can't figure out why others haven't implemented yet. There's got to be a negative to them... just haven't found it yet (maybe its that they're a PITA when it comes time to replace tires as they need to be removed first?).

Looks great! I just ordered these exact whee;s in 20" for my 37" tires I am getting. Did they tell you how you can get replacement rings? Thinking of painting a set....

Just order thru them (Discount / America's Tire). I assume I could order from Vision direct as well.

Painting is an interesting idea! Would love to see what you come up with.

FWIW, I've rubbed these a couple times on rocks on the trail and not a hint of damage; they weren't hard knocks or rubs, but still they were enough that I'm positive I'd have had some gouging/scratching if the ring was metal. As is, I can't even tell where I hit.

I've also received several compliments on these wheels. The rings seem to be a particular hit, especially with those who rock crawl. If I were to paraphrase the conversations over the past couple months, they usually take on the form of "best kept wheel secret in the market." The only knock/negative that's come up is the valve stem placement; it would take one hell of a back luck break to knock one, but still, Murphy's law... just need to be careful and be aware. No more so than street wheels, but definitely more than dedicated offroad/crawling wheels which tend to have the stems well protected.

Thanks so much! That makes me even more excited. I ordered mine from Discount Tire Direct. So much cheaper than anywhere else. Funny thing is, Vision is a customer of mine, we run a warehouse for them. I got to see these wheels before I bought just to make sure I liked them, and I loved the way they looked. Interestingly, DTD even beat the price Vision gave me direct because of shipping charges. Sounds like the ring is perfect for when my wife drives, lol.

No issues with any vibrations? A guy on another FB site has some gunmetal ones and 2 are bad causing some shaking. He bought them from a 3rd party source, not Discount though.

I am going to get some TRD or Toyota decals to go where the Vision decal goes. They make them on Etsy BTW.

Once I get the lift kit one and tires mounted I will share some pics. Yours looks great!

Ohhhhh TRD decals? Yes please! Link?

I read that same post. Suuuure did sound to me like they were bent before install. But I haven't seen a follow up.

No, no vibrations with mine whatsoever. With a caveat: I do get vibrations but they're not coming from the wheel. They're coming from the tire. I'm *very* glad I had these tires and figured this out before the wheels where installed (had them on my stock 18" TRD sport wheels) because I'd read his post before they went on. No doubt I'd have questioned the wheels immediately. But as it turns out these Toyo's develop flat spots even after only a day of sitting, if the pressure is kept 40psi or less. After about 15 minutes on the road, the vibrations went away. Also, after pumping them up to 45psi, no vibrations ever, even after sitting for a few days. Lots of similar complaints about these tires on the webs. Hard to believe, but it is what it is.
