So, I have a 2018 TRD Sport Sequoia and my upgraded stereo is noticeably quietter than my 2011 Platinum was. With the sunroof open at another 75, the stereo is all the way up. If I have it buttoned up, it is still over 45 volume. I think I need an amp and speakers. The sound quality is fine.

FWIW, I do have hearing issues at high frequencies. Entirely too many gunshots and explosions with out hearing protection.

Upgrading the infotainment (stereo) system in my '07 was as easy as 1, 2, 3.

    1. Door Speakers: Focal IC 690 TOY, the original dash tweeters are still working fine.
    2. Head Unit: Kenwood DPX792BH eXcelon
    3. Sub Woofer: Kenwood KSC-SW11

This system does everything I want it to do, and much more.
Great low volume sound, Hands free phone and the screen color matches my dash lights.

I see the teenage girls with their misspelled pound sign's have weighed in.

Sorry, I'm old school and from a time when men bought trucks to do truck stuff and only cared about HP and towing capacity. We called the thing that played music a radio or a stereo and if it came from the factory, we expected it to suck. If that bothered us, we didn't go online to whine about it, we went to the store and bought a better one and replaced it.

    Actually, not sorry

I like a nice stereo for sure. had a great one stock in my suburban ltz. friggin awesome.

what I will not do is swap in some pioneer or alpine POS with those tiny ass buttons, cheesy colors and stupid ass dancing graphics. bleh!

sounds sucks on the factory HU but it is intuitive and the bluetooth works best of any vehicle I've had.

I will say that as far as Bluetooth is concerned, my phone is picked up and operating faster than any other stock system I’ve seen. Yes the sound could be better but like others have said, to each their own. I actually just purchased some plug/play door speakers from Power Bass, see if that helps.
I personally would rather spend the money figuring out a way to make my non leather seats more comfortable o_O

Complete speaker replacement Tech12V group buy $320
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/upd...peaker-group-buy-valid-through-2-28-19.39104/

I sound deadened the doors and back wall with Noico 80, first time I drove without music on I thought I had cotton balls in my years, it is a lot less road noise. Stock nonJBL amp, I added a 10" powered sub behind the seats. The HU alone improved loudness and SQ. The upgraded speakers gave depth and clarity, I'm hearing notes and voice nuances I didn't before, and the dash got even louder. The sub added missing lows to complete the soundstage. I wasn't ready to spend another $500 on amp replacement and passive sub, and not sure I will, I'm not looking to pound.

Sure thing skippy and I'm devastated too. Can't you tell? :burp:

Is it now Bro? Thanks for the update. Sounds like some of you boys would have been better off buying a Kia Soul. Much less expensive and the mice driving them in the commercial are little hipsters that seem to love the "infotainment" system

Not sure if anyone replied to you and not going to read 5 pages of an echo chamber. Try resetting your phone's network connections, delete your phone from your head unit, and re connect. Typically with those issues its on the phone end.
