I don't think you have to mess with pedal thingy, the guy told me it comes all ready for install based on which vehicle you bought it for

Yeah, so when you open the application, and its just idle, then you click update tuner, and it says looking for tuner, i plugged it in. it recognized it and everything, updated the app, then tried to update the tuner and nope.

Update app, then tuner, it'll tell you when to plug it in, sucks it happens on a Sunday with no customer support

Right, so ive tried probably 85 times now at least, and just get the same error. It says something about JIT debugging and an unhandled exception. It seems like its software related to the app, but i dont have any programming experience to experiment at all.

Bought it on CL - no sending it back. The guy I bought it from never plugged it into the computer and ran it out of the box. probably what I will end up doing, and it will probably be ok. I dont have anything to change anyways, since im stock.

Just as long as it's programmed for your vehicle you should be good I would think.

Sorry man. Wish I could help with that. Did you plug it in the truck and see if there was any problems?

Haha, no, i havent hooked it up yet. Im sure it works fine in the truck, as it ships tuned for the 5.7 with stock intake. Just weird that it wont update on the computer. Oh well, i didn't pay anywhere near full price for it, and wont get a CAI since they are a waste of money, so as long as it works when hooked up, i'm good.

Right on. Good luck. You will love it. I wish I had read all the posts about cold air intakes and not bought one either. Sounds good but that was about it.

I learned the hard way with my Tacoma! dont feel bad. I think the only intake proven to take in colder air with the Tacoma was the Volant that went around through the fenders, and even then, it sucked it the rain and snow/dirt. But all the other ones just made noise. I would probably buy a TRD intake just because it says TRD though... lol

Why do people remove this before they take their truck in for service at the dealer?

So the dealer doesn't blame any problems they might find on it. It's an excuse for them to not have to pay to fix something under warranty.

Hooked up the Interceptor today... wow. I can't get it to work with the computer, but that doesn't even matter. I can notice it throughout the entire driving curve, but it is most aggressive when you accelerate anywhere over 30mph. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but my truck sounds a little different with the HTI connected too... it seems to have "smoothed" out while driving too, and I did NOT connect the pedal module. The HTI has the stock map that it ships from HT with, and my truck is completely stock. No engine lights, and I have been letting it eat for the most part, since last night when I hooked it up.

Pulled a travel trailer yesterday and had to take off from a stop on a somewhat steep hill. Big surprise... Cel. As soon as I get the time the stock intake is going back in.

I contacted hypertech support; they have NOT updated any of the tunes on the interceptor, the update when you start the software is only for the tuner app on your computer. So it makes sense that the CEL would still throw without stock intake. @Harris1881 try getting a Delphi MAF sensor- I've read they don't cause the CEL issue...

So I had the same issues with the cel but I want towing anything it just came on. On top of that it i got an error code about my throttle sensor and when i stepped on the gas pedal, nothing. I didnt notice it since i idle out of my parking space from work. Freaked me out almost got rear ended, then realized the hypertech was installed at the pedal as well. Took that off then restarted the truck and error code went away. Drove home without any issues after that.

My cel light comes and goes. I've had it come on towing and also when just driving. Last weekend I was towing my travel trailer loaded on the way home from hunting. Pulled it up a long steep grade and pushed the truck hard up the hill and no light. Not sure why it's comes on so randomly, but I'm learning to live with it. I like having the extra go. I haven't had any problems with pedal sensor and still have it hooked up.

It might have just been my luck becuase not one soul on the great ol internet posted a similar issue. Ohh and I've searched high and low called the manufacturer and got the shoulder shrug.

That's what they did to me. Pretty much told me if I didn't like it to just send it back.

I've had the cel light come as well a couple times. MAF code, random times but not while pulling the TT. Clear and move on. That's weird about your pedal thing

I took Dave's advice and picked it up on Amazon.
