Multi vehicle (24 ) 4 semi trucks / multiple fatalities

Yeah I saw that on the news. I've never seen anything like it. It will be interesting to see what the truck driver says once they interview him during the investigation.

 

That is an absolutely insane video of the truck driving down the shoulder of the highway before the accident.

 

That is unreal. That youtuber got it all basically. I really want a dash cam for work and for personal . Its amazing what happens on the road now a day. Was the driver not even looking at the road that's all I can think of for this to happen.

 

That is horrible.

Question: If this was "an accident" and the driver was not on drugs or drunk... How is that vehicular homicide? Did he intentionally cause this wreck? What if the driver was having a seizure or another medical condition before the accident?

 

I watched the video. That driver had been down the steep downgrades for a while. IMO, if he had lost his brakes he wouldn’t have made it that far. It seemed like a suicide mission to me. RIP to those that lost their lives. And god bless the families who are dealing with this.

 

vehicular homicide sounds really bad, but it covers a large swath of crimes. From misdemeanor to class 4 felony depending on the circumstances. since they have said no drugs/alcohol and it wasnt intentional, he was either driving too fast and couldn't stop, or he was texting...

 

If it wasn’t intentional he made some very poor decisions. Young kid driving a big rig. The Rocky Mountains are no place for an inexperienced driver. He may have passed a run off, not confirmed. Either way it turns out it’s a terrible tragedy for those involved.

Saw this on the news yesterday, wow! Yea, 23 seems very young to be driving a big rig. Couldn't have been driving for very long.

 

It was looks like with new video he was out of control coming down the hill. But, it looks like the dumb SOB passed two runway ramps at least.

 

Man that is insane, prayers to the families that were involved. That truck was hauling butt when it passed that guy filming. I don't know much about big rigs but if he had lost his brakes on the downhills could he not have downshifted/jake braked the truck to cut speed?

 

Look on fox31 video. He passed two coming down the hill. That right there will seal his fate. I’ll try to post the link.

I am going to go ahead and guess he lacked a license to be operating that rig along with a few other pieces of paper.

He was a young driver that had no idea what to do.

You are getting that a lot more now.

I drove for almost 10 years and they no longer train.
You get your paper that says you can drive and you drive.

 

Not to mention CO dropped the CDL age from 21 to 18. It’s going to get worse.
I have a class A because I work in a utility but I don’t ever use it and it was ridiculously easy to obtain.

"Guessing" as you call it, causes a lot of problems in this country. I hate reading shit like this, especially in a thread like this. These poor family members, victims, and witnesses are really hurting over this horrific tragedy and you need to make an ignorant immigration comment. I'm guessing you won't last long here.
