Snugtop Rebel was installed on my 2018 Crewmax yesterday. Pretty happy with it. The fold up front window (on gas props) is genius for this truck! Can still take advantage of the full roll down back window.

Looks good! I had the rebel on my Tacoma. I love the fit and finish of SnugTop. Pricey, but you get what you pay for...
I’m still rocking a tonneau cover for now on the Tundra as I like the way it looks better than a canopy. But it’s only a matter of time until I get another SnugTop. They are just so damn convenient, especially with two dogs that are 60+ lbs.

I hear you KnuckleHD. I ran soft tonneau covers on my last 2 trucks and loved them. Hard to argue with the convenience of a topper though.. even if it looks a bit old man-ish!

I do wish Snugtop was less expensive, but I figured I might as well get what I want.:spending:

    Nice!
Any chance you could get a couple pictures if the front window setup?
    Sounds pretty neat!

    Looks great!

Just keep an eye on the back corners where the top meets the truck. Seen reports here of some serious rubbing (resulting in loss of paint all the way down to the bare metal) even after only a few miles of street driving.

Thanks for heads up! I took a close look and the gap looks ok. I can see how it could get messed up tho.

How much does it weigh? I would love something like this for my 2018 crewmax but my goal is travel trailer towing and I worry about max payload; all the ones I’ve seen have been in the 200lb range,

I’m not sure what it weighs, although I believe it is heavier than most. One of the sales pitches for Snugtop is that they use thicker fiberglass. The truck actually rides a little better having the topper weight back there. Not as jumpy in the rear.

    To the OP
Have you had any rubbing with your Rebel? Ive been going back and forth between snugtop and ARE.. I read negs and pos on both. I had a ARE on my 17 f250 and it rubbed the paint off on all 4 corners. I don't want that to happen with the tundra.

Nope, no rubbing at all. The gap on the outside is pretty consistent. About 1/4 to 1/2” I would say. My only complaint is Snugtop’s clamping system. In short, it clamps to the lip of the bed rail. The bed rail is just thin sheet metal, and Snugtop’s clamps will bend it. I ended up adding some old school clamps to resolve the problem. You can read all about it in this thread. I posted some pics of mine. https://www.tundras.com/threads/snu...clamps-bent-my-trunk-edge.38064/#post-1173740

I spoke with my dealer about it, and they conceded that it’s a BS design and nobody likes it. Not the dealers fault.. but something I wish I’d have know ahead of time. I love everything else about the topper.

Sounds like they clamped it wrong. Should not be clamped to the sheet metal. Should be to the side rails. Some else here also had that issue. Here it is on mine same topper.

That’s cheaper than I’ve been quoted. But it also depends on what options it has. Fold down windows, sliders, screens, windows, pro lock, reinforced roof, etc. They all add up quick. Still a good price though, IMO. I’m in So Cal so not sure how prices vary from city to city.

Thanks for the quick reply, I emailed the dealer back and asked what options, the front and side windows are a must especially with the roll down tundra rear it will be nice for my dog . Snug top has a special on the website about free front window with purchase of the shell.

Its the going price for new. You must be talking about the dealer on howe and folsom. Saw that a while back and I wanna say it has the slider sides and flip down front with carpet liner.
