I am still amazed that the owner of a company like Taco Tunes came on this forum and was bad mouthing a customer that question his policy of moving your order fulfillment to the back of the line when you choose regular shipping and not expedited shipping.

Where in Texas are you located? I know there is a meet up this Saturday at Toyota in cedar park where you could hear them both. I was impressed with how great they both sounded

I actually live right up the road near Belton. I got to listen to @Netmonkey 's system this weekend and was really impressed. I would love to hit that event but I have a turkey hunt planned up past Abilene this coming weekend...even though I LOVE turkey season this is tempting!

My vote is for James at Tech12volts as well, no one can touch his customer service. Since I am in San Antonio, I actually went to ********* first to listen to their vehicle and get a price for speakers and the pieces to be able to add my own amps (I already had a JL HD amp and did not want their amps). I scheduled an appointment, went by, explained what I wanted, after a few days I emailed, no response, emailed again a few more days later, no response again. I contacted James on a Saturday, exchanged a dozen emails within an hour and had everything ordered. Everything showed up within a week. James can get you name brand equipment and he builds his sub boxes here in the USA, not China.
I have made 3 or 4 orders from James over the last 2 years and he has always done a great job at assisting me very quickly when I had questions and offering great pricing.

i can attest to the Scoche. The entire reason I kept stock head unit was because of the Metra dash kit. It looks cheap to me and did not match up well to stock dash. The scoche looks fantastic. I saw both in @tbrown truck.

Also James is the best. Taco tunes is not even close to his level.

Something James has never and I would say probably would never do. That in itself should help anyone make their decision on whose business to support.

Can you elaborate a little? In my research I hear the same about both kits. Seems like its hit and miss which ever you choose.

Ok guys, I appreciate all of the input and help with making this decision. After researching everything I could...I went with an all JL Audio system, (just a little under 1000 watts) from Tech12Volts. I was really impressed with @Netmonkey s ********* system but in the end I feel better going with JL Audio components because I'm familiar with their product and have only heard good things plus you all had plenty of good to say about James. I did finally get a reply from ********* but it was just a link to their system, no pleasantries, no real invitation to ask questions or provide answers and at this point James and I have traded a few dozen emails. Order placed, and now I get to wait for the UPS guy every day :) I really think he hates me at this point, but hey, I think everyone on this forum equals job security for UPS/FedEx/USPS.

Take a look at these, we've dona a few sets in the past and they're by far the best sounding easy to install speakers there are.

    https://www.focal.com/en/car-audio/.../integration/plugplay/focal-toyotar/is-690toy

They have them for the front and rear for both coaxial and component rear doors. Not cheap but you could install these yourself without issue. No fabrication needed, direct plug in. I'd also check out the mini amps focal has.

Something to think about, the engineers that are building $200,000.00 floor standing home speakers are the same guys engineering the car stuff.

@james@tech12volts doesn't stop when your money goes to their account. They keep answering questions day, or night. Not like a 24 hour delay either- but within minutes- Including weekends

    Stock, for now
I have an non JBL HU. Neither of this will work for me just because phone calls and gps guidance will go to all speakers. Not enough for me. If you decide to upgrade your audio, I would just figure it out myself. They have good stuff but I would not rely on a XYZ amp. I would just go out there and do a little bit of shopping. You will be surprise at what you can find.

If you have any issues, give James a call. He is very knowledgeable and will walk you through anything. I called him on a Saturday while installing mine. You could tell there was a ton of activity going on in his shop and he was very busy, but he answered every question and took care of the small problem I was having. Had and RCA adaptor that was bad, he had one in the mail on Monday morning with 2 day shipping to fix the issue. Great service.

I'm sure he will get a call and/or email or two from me before its all said and done! Got everything staged in the garage and kind of want to get started but no way I can start it tonight. Maybe I'll just wire up the subs in the box :)

Yes let me know if you need any help . We were at the TN tundra meet this weekend and actually broke down on the way home. So if you emailed me this weekend there may have been a delay in answering as it was nuts. 2 people with us got extremely sick and then we had to stay an extra day. On the way home a transmission line broke and trans fluid all over the place . Not a good weekend. Walked back into the shop this morning to total chaos. But I will get through it all . Thanks to all our supporters

No worries James, I received all the instructions and they seem clear...but there might be a question or two that pop up along the way. Thanks again for your prompt response, the equipment arrived last night.

System is installed (took me two late nights and one early morning) not as bad as I thought it would be when broken up into chunks. I'm here to say that this system is no joke! It has far exceeded my expectations and I haven't had the volume above 24...yet. Now its all about fine tuning, and everything you guys said about James was spot on. The guy answered emails in minutes when I had questions, would run to the shop to take a picture of something if I needed it (even when he wasn't at his shop). I'm sure the ********* systems are very solid too, but I am definitely a Tech12Volts believer. Happy with my choice and I recommend them without reservation!

Been a week and he hasn't got back to me.

Wonder if he doesn't like Yankees or something.

Do you have the parts list and I can order the stuff?

maybe if i buy it and spoof my number to some place other than NY they can at least answer any install questions I have when I go to do it.

Or I can pay a local place to put it in.

I just dont know what to order

If you are referring to James, he was at the Tennessee Tundra Meet over the weekend. He posted in one of the other threads that he was out for 5 days and will be working on responding to all emails. If you sent him a DM on here, I would recommend sending him an email at tech12volt@gmail.com . He responds to emails a lot more than other forms of messaging
