Damnit man, best of luck on the recovery. I feel your pain as I also learned the hard way to take my time when getting paid by the hour. Fell down a flight of stairs and halfway through the plate glass window at the bottom (2nd story of a 3 story building that was poorly designed) several years ago when I was trying to move some heavy equipment with an electric dolly and was tired of waiting on my partner. Got top heavy on me and I held on for dear life as it crashed down the stairs and into the window. Came inches away from puncturing a major artery (or throwing me 20+ feet onto the ground), luckily it only tore my tricep nearly in half. Fun times. Hope that makes ya feel a tad bit better lol.

Sorry brother. Keep your head up. It will get better soon enough.

Easier said than done but try to always look at the positive side of everything.

Doc said it’s pretty common, as the tissue that grows the nails looks the same as any other tissue.

Hoping the healing is much quicker after this slice and dice compared to the original crush. Hard to say though, circulation is poor in that finger, and it’s constantly cold (heated glove is on the works)

You’ve come a long way. Just a minor inconvience toward the end. So weird your body thinks it should grow a nail even though the tip is missing.

They are being supplied by a company called Simple Abilities. Heated glove liner with rechargeable battery pack, then a leather outer glove.

I feel your pain literally sir.
I lost a third of my left pointer finger a few years ago while using a joiner/plainer.
To make matters worst, I play guitar and I fret with that hand.
I wasn’t going to let my stupidity stop me though and played on toughening up the finger in time.
Hard to play the C chord though.
    You’ll be alright.
As we both know, it could have been worse.
Good luck with your on going recovery.

Good luck bud. You'll make through fine. I didn't want to replace part of my elbow, but that turned out ok.

Surgery done yesterday, doc said a sliver of nail was growing so it was curling on itself under the skin. Just local freezing with an IV sedative, that was WAY better than the initial amputation surgery where it was local freezing only. I was aware of what was going on, but relaxed and would have agreed to anything. Good thing there weren’t any Ford salesmen there. And too bad nobody tried to sell me a ‘19 Pro. :D

Overnight was pretty sore once the freezing wore off, but the mild pain meds are working alright today.

Although I do not know you, I am sorry to hear of your accident. Along with all the other Tundra and non Tundra owner's, I wish you a speedy recovery. Having any kind of injury to your hands or fingers do make life a little more difficult. Take care and stay on the up and positive.

Don’t put your fingers where you wouldn’t put a winning lottery ticket folks!

Just had another surgery this morning, same deal as in November, and it went well. More fingernail under the skin. I’ve started referring to it a getting a manicure. :D Freezing is starting to wear off now, but no pain, no gain, right?

It ain’t no holiday, but another break from work just in time to miss the implementation of a new company-wide computer system isn’t all bad.

And one look at my brother-in-law who lost his entire right arm 2 months ago keeps things in perspective. He’s doing pretty good too, all things considered. He got the OK to drive again yesterday.:burnrubber:

There's a huge baseball glove at Oracle Park where the San Francisco Giants play.
The folks want to know why it only has 4 fingers and not 5 ~ what did they do with the other finger?
    The announcer answers with:
"They gave it to the Dodgers."
