Butcher Jones Run/Saguaro Lake Paddle Boarding - August 11, 2018

I recently completed my NREMT class through the Border Patrol and became an EMT! It was a long couple months of training and that NREMT test was no joke! I'm extremely happy that I pushed through and completed the class. We don't get an extra pay bump and it is 100% voluntary, so at times it was hard to see the benefits. Since then I have been on a couple rescue missions and confident in handling some tough situations. The benefit of helping someone in need, especially a fellow agent made it worth it! To celebrate, my Wife, @PLC721 , and I went paddle boarding to enjoy some much needed time away from the daily grind

    Butcher Jones Continued...

Best part about a trip out to Butcher Jones is you gotta wheel in, and wheel out! It's always a fun technical trail and of course we love these AZ dusk runs too ;) We turned on the Bajas and finished out the awesome day with some cool pics :headbang: @PLC721

Defconbrix Tacoma Raffle @ Haley Strategic Partners - August 18, 2018

If you know the name, then you know the truck...or vice versa. Defconbrix from TacomaWorld had a pretty large following and reputation for his black Tacoma. It was badass and fully built with some awesome parts. He ended up raffling it off by selling numbered Patches and one lucky SOB would win the truck. I was hoping I'd get myself another black taco to run around in, but it just didn't work out. They threw a damn good local raffle BBQ at Haley Strategic Partners headquarters in Scottsdale where he currently works.

Managed to fit a used 35 up underneath the truck. I cut the cross member pieces back and she fits nice and tight!

Only real problem with this is the shackle bolts, but I still need to turn them around. Since I've installed they have rubbed away at the tire but not too bad.

ARIZONA TUNDRAS: Hydrate the Homeless - September 9th, 2018

Right Toyota of Scottsdale and Arizona Tundras put on an awesome charity event to Hydrate the Homeless last year! We had so many Tundras show up and donate!:headbang: Jeff Wescott of Right Toyota had the entire dealership move the fleet of brand new Tundras inside the service center to show off and cleared almost the entire lot for us to park our Tundras outside. Of course they had the big guns near the front

As we prepped some more for ColoRADo later in the month, I had one more mod bug hit. Picked up some Amazon VIPmotoz taillights that seemed to always be sold out or discontinued. They looked even better in person! I was very satisfied with how well they fit into my build

Only think you have to do is install 2 resistors per taillight using 3M tape, then its all plug and play

Cottonwood Canyon/Ajax Mine to Mineral Mountain - September 12, 2018

The official Shakedown Run for our ColoRADo trip was high speed with alittle technical crawling! I had to be sure TRON was in good shape before driving all the way to CO to wheel and come back haha. I absolutely love this area North of Florence, Arizona in the Gold Canyon area. It's filled with a vast network of trails, and most are high speed  We actually wanted to scout another route into Box Canyon and mapped this new route in the process. We ran into an old water truck that appeared to be abandoned after they got it stuck in the mud. As always my @Baja Designs led the way into the night! Oh and here are those taillights just a few hours after install ;)

    ColoRADo Round 3 - September 20th-23rd, 2018

    DAY 1
And so it begins!:typing: Thursday morning September 20th at 0400 my Wife Nikki, @PLC721 @Help @JTS2019TUNDRA and I headed to our first stop in Flagstaff, AZ. The early morning drive up the I-17 through the heavy fog and clouds was an awesome way to start our day and this trip! In Flagstaff, we met up with the rest of our crew including @JoeRyno and a few others. We all met and sat down for breakfast at the Tourist Home All Day Cafe☕️ This made for a nice break in the drive from Chandler, and allowed us to plan the best route into Colorado. We had some options since the first day was dedicated to travel, and most of our group had never seen Monument Valley before, so it was an easy decision to detour North from Kayenta, AZ and lead the way into Utah! Somewhere along the way TRON hit 70K miles too:eek2: As always Monument Valley did not disappoint!

Some time after Mexican Hat and Bluff, UT my GPS lead me on a route....Plain and simply I just followed it, but there were a few times I felt more lost than ever before haha... Just before White Mesa, I lead the group East on probably the worst asphalt road I'd ever seen with potholes the size of cars! It was ridiculous, I was so relieved to hit a dirt road not long after, but then I realized this route was taking us through a Reservation... We didn't take pictures here, it wasn't very scenic and I knew the group was starting to question my navigation skills. Navigating mostly on dirt roads, we drove through the Hovenweep National Monument where they had some cliff dwellings, and then through the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. I actually had no idea we even crossed the Utah-Colorado border until after then Canyon of the Ancients! It felt like an eternity of endless curvy roads then all of a sudden we were driving on farm roads with a massive change in scenery. As @JTS2019TUNDRA said, "...are we in Nebraska?" Finally we hit some actual paved highways and made our way into Dolores, CO. From that point on, the trip was no longer surreal as we climbed into the San Juan National Forrest! The Aspens were in full effect and we were full speed ahead to our Mountain Village home

It was a hard decision to make whether we would be camping or finding a place to rent for the weekend. Being that it was all of our first time hitting the ColoRADo trails, we decided it'd be easier to rent a house for the weekend as base camp, and leave all the camping gear at home. I don't think anyone was disappointed when we pulled into the driveway of this badass Mountain Village Mansion!:eek2::drool::thumbsup::bananadance:

This winter the family and I drove to both Telluride, CO and Dillon, CO. We went through NM on the way to Telluride and it was horribly boring. Our way to Dillon, it was quite the opposite. The drive through Monument Valley, Moab, Grand Junction and then up through Vail Pass was the most spectacular 12hr road-trip I've been on in a while. We experienced just about everything but tropics.

    ColoRADo Round 3 - Day 2 Continued

    DAY 2
Time to hit the trails! We awoke to a gorgeous Friday Morning with a full day ahead of us! Our new friend Blair @trixano drove all the way from Vail, CO to greet us as we prepped to take on Imogene Pass We made a quick stop to air down and gas up then headed into Telluride. I love how quickly this trail begins! One second you're driving through this awesome little town, couple turns later through a quiet neighborhood, and you're climbing through the trees onward to highest pass in the San Juan Mountains:eek2:

Leading the way up to the abandoned town site of Tomboy, we rolled around a corner to see this rock tunnel I had seen so many times before, but only in pictures. Needless to say, it did not disappoint and of course we had to document! It's called Social Tunnel and its been used by horses, wagons and vehicles for more than 130 years.

The Ghost Town of Tomboy☠️⚒ With a full day ahead of us unfortunately we didn't spend too much time here, but it was cool to see the historic remains of this mine as we drove through. The trail definitely seemed to change quickly from then on to the summit. I took advantage of one of the signs that warned "Short Wheel Base" The lack of power as we climbed in elevation seemed to be the most noticeable issue but it didn't stop us!

    ColoRADo Round 3 - Day 2 Continued

    Imogene Pass - 13,114 ft.⛰
We finally made it to the top! While we briefly stopped in Savage Basin at the Tomboy town site, I remember looking toward the mountain tops and seeing a glare off a vehicle on its way to the summit. I was in shock how far away it was and realizing that's where we were headed. On that last stretch just before the summit my heart was racing, and I couldn't help but speed up as that epic view below was begging me stop and stare! It was indeed EPIC:eek2: The air was thin, but the view was incredible. We cheered with a beer born in the Rockies #Coorslight (imported back to CO from AZ:der:) for climbing the second highest vehicular pass in Colorado!:oldglory:

Making our way down the other side of the summit toward Camp Bird on Imogene Pass, we stopped at this rock outcropping known as "Poser Rock". The view of the valley below was pretty cool as we traced the road winding down into the trees. The rest of the trail went by as fast we dropped down in elevation, but while we were surrounded again by the beautiful fall colors time was working against us. Our original plan was to run Imogene Pass into Yankee Boy Basin before dropping into Ouray, but I was beginning to worry about our trail time for the day. I knew we had a few more stops and wanted to have enough time in Ouray and then of course, Black Bear Pass  Next time we'll be sure to set aside time for Yankee Boy, but that's why I love ColoRADo, we haven't seen a quarter of what it has to offer:thumbsup:

Yep, I probably would like it in either direction but Ouray Brewery at the end was so nice. Definitely do it in the Tundra man

    ColoRADo Round 3 - Day 2 Continued

This Imogene Creek Crossing was begging for attention since we brought the long wheel bases  We don't see much water in AZ, so yes I was excited even for the little bit that was running! Of course my wife was the only one that crawled through it flawlessly, and made it look easy haha. Every one else scraped some portion of their truck. (I still need to upload the video but here's a few screen shots.

    Ouray Brewery
This was not only an extremely rewarding Beer from the infamous Ouray Brewery, but also a much needed "calming of the nerves" before we took on Black Bear Pass! Hands down we had an awesome group of people to share this trip with. Thank each and every one of you for tagging along and making this an unforgettable adventure! As much as we loved Imogene, that was only the beginning. Believe it or not, the day only got better and slightly more dangerous with a major trail recovery, but you'll have to stay tuned for that story

    Highway to the DANGER ZONE!

Our Friday afternoon adventure was just beginning! During lunch, I remember sitting there drinking my beer and trying to take it all in as everyone talked about how awesome Imogene was. My nerves were definitely tense as we prepped to take on one of the most dangerous trails in America. I knew then I would be writing about that moment, and here I am in wanderlust. Thanks to @trixano here's a glimpse of our squad heading toward the trailhead on the Million Dollar Highway!:headbang: Click play!
