@Baja Designs Sorry, but the directions were not the best for installation. I had to follow a fellow member's tutorial for installation (@MotoTundra ). I also sheared one of the long anti-vibration bolts. I hand threaded the nylock nut, then used wrenches and was fine till about half way down the bolt it started binding. I tried to remove the nut and ended up shearing the bolt in half. Other than that, the lights are awesome!

Almost lost a fog light on the trail yesterday. What are people doing to make sure these stay in nice and tight and don’t shake or pop out?

Mine are in good and tight thanks to that bolt on the outside edge that you put the rubber nipple on. Its pinched pretty tight up the back of the bumper end when installed.

Sorry about this! We've made a few revisions to the kit to reduce vibration and the possibility of this happening.
When did you install the kit?

Baja Designs | SAE Approved Lighting | 4/25 UPDATE

Our team is working hard to release the SAE approved lighting. The ETA is currently set for June. White will be the first color released. We are currently working on getting the Amber finalized. I hope to start Pre-Orders soon. Please keep an eye out for details!

Note: There will NOT be an SAE Lens Kit available. SAE approved lights use a completely different lens and optic compared to the normal Squadron. Customers will have the option to send their light in to be upgraded, I hope to share pricing and other details soon.

Please give our team a call at 800-422-5292 so we can send you an updated parts kit.
(or email paulm@bajadesigns.com) and include a link to this post.

We have revised that kit to allow more security to the vehicle. This includes additional hardware to secure the kit to your Truck. These new changes will reduce vibration and prevent issues as you experienced.

@Baja Designs I’m looking for some Work/Scene lights for my Leitner ACS (bed rack) when camping. Which ones with a good job of lighting up a site for setup without breaking the bank? Thanks!

We're happy to take a look at your install and make sure everything is looking good. Please send Paul a few pics for us to look over.

We have had a few minor issues with the anodize color fading. Please send a few pics our way and we'll go over what we can do for getting it replaced

What’s your reason for the amber in that location or for that use?

I personally like the Amber color more because it offers less glare when things are dusty or foggy. Bugs also seem to be less attracted to it compared to White

This is great news as I've been waiting on a DOT compliant version of the squadrons but I'm not understanding the "There will NOT be an SAE Lens Kit available."? No SAE fog light kit? Why not, what am I missing?

I believe this is due to the optics required that is additional to the lens making it a requirement to have BD make the changes which is more than just then lens.

What I'm looking/hoping for is a brand new complete Amber SAE Fog light kit. Not a conversion or retro fit "kit" for an existing set.

I do not think that could be possible in any manufacturers lights. The SAE specifications have to be met which are strict and I do not think a simple lens change would meet the specs. Then again what do I know

I feel like we are talking 2 different languages? o_O lol

Baja stated that will be releasing SAE approved lighting. I'm simply looking for a "kit" that will allow me to mount their SAE approved lighting in my factory fog light location. How or why would that not be possible?

That said, I'm not sure how much I'm actually worried about the SAE approval? According to this site: (https://www.truck-lite.com/content/news/sae-vs-dot-truth-about-lighting-regulations), "there is no federal regulation for fog lamps, so the state regulations are in effect. Fortunately, the states have settled on calling out the SAE J583 Fog Lamp Recommended Practice"

I haven't found anything that shows my state (KY) has any specific requirements for fog lights so maybe I'm worrying about nothing? My concerns relate more to the posts I've read stating that Baja's current "fog light kit" that uses their Squadron Sport Wide Cornering lights can be a bit too bright for oncoming traffic? Then again that may have just as much to do with where they're mounted and aimed as much as the lights themselves?

@airgunner... my bad, I thought you were referring to a "kit" to upgrade an existing BD light to the SAE approved

We are not offering an SAE Approved Lens Kit that replaces the lenses found on existing Squadrons. Customers can't convert their lights themselves by replacing the lenses.

    --

We are planning on offering an SAE Approved Fog Light Kit that replaces the factory fog lights. The lights will be available on their own for customers that already own our vehicle specific kits and want to replace their lights.

Cool deal - Will there be a change in price compared to the current non-SAE approved fog light kit?

    Thanks

Kit Pricing will increase slightly since the SAE Approved Lights are more expensive

Here at Baja Designs we know that you’re interested in a quality product that you can rely on for work, weekend adventures, and for the ultimate driving experience. Our products face rigorous testing before they are made available to the public and we ensure that they have the proper technology accompanying the performance to make the product last a lifetime. One of the requirements we put on all our LED lights is the IP69K standard.

Many of our competitors have an IP67K rating instead of IP69K. Find out why the IP69K rating is far more superior and how Baja Designs exceeds these standards:

Can you provide any info on this? Clear lens or will it appear lightly smoked like RI? Also, will there be an option for SAE squadron using the squadronnpros for more output?

    TIA
