Hey guys has anyone removed there tow package to re paint? I moved up to Wisconsin from Alabama and in the last two years my tow package has started to rust. I was thinking about removing and re painting or possibly getting it lineX’d or some equivalent. If you’ve done it post pics. I went through the search thread but didn’t locate anything. I’m not sure how hard it will be to remove

    Thanks for the help guys
    Bruce

Just clean it up and paint with rustoleum...that's what I always do. Hate the rust up here.

I sprayed the underbody/frame with Amsoil HD Metal Protector. If you take it off prep well and re paint the coat it with Amsoil or like you should be set.

Shouldn't be all that hard to remove. The hitch itself will just be bolted onto the frame and the wire harness should have a connector somewhere under the bed.

I wore eye protection and a respirator and brushed off with a wire brush, then sprayed with Rustoleum. But like everyone else said, I've sure it's easy to unbolt and paint.
