Well, the worst is over in Melbourne. We have the backside of the storm kicking up a westerly wind. Drove around a little about an hour ago, and on my side of town (Viera) there's very little debris and power is on. Didn't see any palm trees down, just small scrub oaks laying over. All in all, we got very lucky!

All is well, a lot of down power lines and trees. Been running our tails off at the FD. Could have been way worse, God is good...

Mostly cosmetic and fence damage with some trees also. Ended up using truck as ferry to get people down a flooded road for a couple hours. I was also blessed on this one. Neighbors roof ended up in my front yard.

It's inspiring to see people come from all over the country to help when it's needed. Gives you a big feel good for the USA. Wish we would stick together like this all of the time. Special thanks to all of those in public service and to those that extend a helping help when they see a brother in need.

Well let's just say, they were just a......little bit off on there track. Rain and breezy conditions they said. I know no one can give a 100% guarantee, but to say it's gonna button hook away at this area, anyway I'm done ranting. Flash flooding everywhere, no power, and another narrow escape from tree taking my car out. Hope everyone is safe Took video with the Go Pro, will try to get them up when power is back. Winds were sustained @ 75-80, with gust over 100 mph@ Jeanetts pier in Nags head. IMAG1946.jpgIMAG1948.jpgIMAG1947.jpgIMAG1949.jpg
Oh most importantly the Obx Tundra made it unscathed :D

All we got was 20-30 mile an hour winds and a hell of a lot of rain just south of Charlotte. Nothing like what you got Ron.

Yeah Mike, it's gonna take a while to clean up after this one. Could off been worse, and there's a lot more people worse off than me, and our thoughts and prayers are for everyone that was affected . Everything intact at the new house Mike

Yikes. So many cars are probably totaled as a result too.

Yes sir, I did notice a small leak in the roof above one of the guest bedrooms but let the builder know and he got them over there yesterday right away to fix it. Bet he was pretty happy I went over and spotted it considering the amount of rain we were getting and the drywall went in Thursday and Friday and it was dripping on it. Could have been a bad Monday morning for him.

You guys who are driving threw deep water, keep an eye on your rear differential. I'd strongly suggest getting that oil changed when the water level goes down. I destroyed my spider gear and drive shaft/propeller shaft (they welded together) a few years ago when water got in threw the diff vent. It was a $1500 repair bill to replace both the shaft and spider gear set.

Seriously though, we dodged a massive bullet, but many suffered serious damage. Our fire department did an awesome job and at one point we were answering a 9-1-1 call every 30 seconds. Afterwards we all came together and helped our neighbors in a time of need. Great job Jacksonville!! FYI, we had no damage at the house or station........Whew!!
