So from Grand Falls you go North on unmarked Indian RD to Indian route 6732 turn left and follow past Bug Tanks, stay left (high speed area). Go straight till hard left at T junction. Go left and stay straight, cross little colorado river. Usually very shallow even if running pretty good. Just wide. Stay straight until you get to paved rd. Turn right & go about 1.5 miles to county rd 395 and turn left (right will take you to the wupatki visitor center). This rd goes out to the HWY through the cinders and sunset craters park.

Cross the HWY and turn right (all dirt) this part is 14.3 miles going behind (north) the mountains it says (48 minutes) but it's more like 20.

Then 19 Minutes north on HWY 180 all paved. Then left on Forest Service RD 144 (high speed area) all the way to I-40 & Parks (gas station & general store).

Cross I-40 and it's 36 minutes 17.2 miles to Sycamore falls. All dirt.

Then its 2:43 and 77 miles to sedona the back way. All dirt to Jerome then paved to sedona.

I'm going to try to do this on a map and load it here.

Did part of that route last year when we did Sycamore falls and out thru Jerome. Just didn't do Grand Falls because they weren't flowing and did another side trip thru the hills.

More info. Mostly unpaved. Numerous high speed and off routes to the sides.

    Starting point. 35.4275° N, 111.2007° W

All dirt. There are a couple of long dirt straight areas in between. You can also see dust coming off of other vehicles a long way a way. This is on the reservation so very little traffic and little to none of our radar packing friends.

Paved road intersection in Wupataki 35°31'44.0"N 111°20'53.9"W paved all the way to 35°22'18.1"N 111°34'44.7"W

Curvy dirt forest service rd from 35°22'18.1"N 111°34'44.7"W to 35°23'49.4"N 111°45'31.0"W This road is pretty well maintained and is a easy drive, not fast but in the pine trees with mountain peak and canyon views here and there.

    From 35°23'49.4"N 111°45'31.0"W to 35°34'18.3"N 111°55'52.6"W is all 2 lane highway.

From 35°34'18.3"N 111°55'52.6"W to 35°19'18.3"N 111°56'46.3"W is dirt and also has some high speed straight a ways. This is empty forest land with some cows.

From 35°19'18.3"N 111°56'46.3"W to the I40 Parks interchange is a two lane paved road. There is a gas station and convenience store there.

From 35°14'59.5"N 111°56'17.4"W to 35°08'20.1"N 112°01'47.1"W (Sycamore Falls) is all dirt forest service rd.

From 35°08'20.1"N 112°01'47.1"W it's all dirt rd all the way to jerome. From jerome on it's all paved back to Munds Park unless you go to sedona and take Schnebly Hill Rd back up to I-17.

Hope this helps some. It looks like a long drive but you could always start from the cinders (wupataki) and skip the Grand Falls area.

Mine isn't lifted or bigger tires. You'll be fine. Lots of coyotes so keep it close. There are lots of convenience stores close to this route but I'd bring drinks and snacks.

@KevinK I am usually a lone adventurer so never had a radio before. I just picked one up for this trip and am curious what channels or frequency is normally used at T2S. Should i program the radio to unlock the higher channels that don't come on most Baofangs?

You'll get freqs prior to runs. That way we don't publish on this totally public forum. Also, can't use the same freqs for different runs in close proximity.

Just need to know if i need to program the radio to the channels that do not come standard on the new radios.

They installed some hardware in the shoulder, month or two in a sling, but it should heal pretty fast

But I also broke and separated some ribs and those fckrs are gonna take a while to heal I think.
