It's steel behind the plastic right? What did you cut through with? I'm considering doing that, then putting a flush mount LED cube(reverse light) on the other side.

I have been looking at doing the same thing. Do you have any pictures of the process?

Yes, chrome metal is behind and that’s what you need to mount the bracket to for this to work and not be flimsy. You just pop off the plastic, breaking some of the tabs. You can see the bracket in the pic of harness above. I got 3 of the 4 mounting screws into metal, so it’s suuuper sturdy, it rocks the truck if I grab and rock it, way stronger than factory. I used a dremmel w/ reinforced wheel to cut the round part out, then grinded smooth, no problem, just be patient and it only takes 1 disc. I didn’t take pics, kinda self explanatory what’s necessary. Went to Ace hardware and got longer nuts/bolts. Kit comes with 1” and you need 1 1/2”, I went with black and upped em a size for strength.

Very Nice, I need to do something like this as well.
