I think that it's supposed to let in additional cooler air. haven't looked into it much, there isn't any air to suck where I live so it seems to me to be an effort in futility.

Curious about this PAC setup, any more info about your config? Or maybe another thread?

No cruise control while in beast mode. No way I can do a 9 hour drive without cruise.

Probably because the traction control is off. I'm pretty certain that I've used Tow/Haul with the cruise control on while descending the pass to see what it'd do. If memory serves, it did better without.

    .
Stereo stores use them all the time but you can get them off of Amazon for like 45 bucks it’s a PAcTR 12 it’s just a trigger module that has 12 ports in it. You hook each switch you want to control to one of the ports download the software onto your computer program the port to do whatever you want and then when it’s attached it automatically activates the tow haul switch and then goes to the sequence to turn off your traction control and you don’t have to push any buttons. If you want to turn those back on you just push the buttons. Works fantastic

While only playing with Tow/Haul-Ass for 2 days, I have noticed increased MPGs on my work commute. Not enough data to speculate too much, but promising. And... full Beast Mode is a blast off the line :)

I've been turning it on on the way to work, off on the way back. Same route, same traffic (or lack of) 18 miles one way. I'm not seeing any difference.

Once you turn all the nannies off and turn the tow/haul on, will it default back to factory settings when you turn the truck off? Or, do you have to turn off the tow/haul and turn the nannies back on manually?

I’ve been messing around with beast mode and I discovered that you don’t have to turn off traction control to get beast mode. Just hit the RSCA button twice (3 secs each time) and turn on tow haul. It felt like beast mode to me plus no warning lights on dash...

I think the Tow Haul is enough, the other buttons is so you can light up the tires...those tires are mine and I'm not burnin' up bucks to bark'em....

The point of turning off the Traction Control is that if the engine senses any wheel spin of any kind the ECU powers down the engine while applying the brake to the spinning wheel. With them off you control the power with your right foot, plus you get better MPG's.

Yah, that's the issue with S mode, even if the truck is in 6th in D mode, you move that gear shift to S mode and you are back in 4th and have to immediately up shift. I don't know why Toyota designed it this way, in other cars I've driven that have the same D mode with S mode option, when you go into S mode, there is not change of gear.

I've had mine react differently, but on such rare occasions that I don't recall the circumstances and I was never able to repeat the event at will and never think to try various scenarios when I have the time to kill.

really glad i found this thread!, had to pull a dodge 2500 out of the sand the other day. i hit the trac control button, put her in 4wH, then shifted into first gear..... i was surprised at how the engine bogged down! if i did the same thing in my 15 GMC it would have much more power with just hitting the trac control button. very good information to have! will test out beast mode tomorrow and see what it's all about.

?, someone mentions RSCV button..........what is that?

RSCA stands for Rollover Side Curtain Airbags and disables them...would be beneficial if you're doing some high angle off-roading.
    Not sure about RSCV though...

I cant wait to try out beast mode tomorrow morning...or maybe this evening:drool::bananadance:

I did it once, it's amazing, but you're absolutely right, good tires are just too expensive to burn off tread, but it's nice to know that it can be done easily.

Thank you!!! I have been meaning to search for this answer. I knew there was a way to turn this crap completely off. I am so sick of this thing correcting my steering for me when I wanna play. especially when I do not ask it to. I knew just turning off trac control did not stop everything. Does this stay off even when the truck is turned off and restarted? or is there a way to disable it completely?

Tow/Haul is great when you are towing or hauling, and I like to use it when I am on long down hill runs even if I am not towing or hauling. I no longer use T/H for performance on level roads, it holds gear far too long.
