i have a 2014 1794 with the basic shocks and a 3/1 leveling kit with 285/65r20s. And I’m am sure my shocks are worn out the truck rides pretty rough and I’m not surprised because I do off-road and mud a lot and also driving logging roads fairly fast (probably too fast lol) but they are worn down at only 74,000 miles. So I want something that will ride smoother than stock when I bought it but will last me a long time. Most of my driving is sub 45 on city road but almost every weekend I’m off-road. Thanks for reading. Any help is appreciated and btw I love the “Cadillac ride” even though most don’t I like the soft cloud feel like I’m not even on the road

I'm looking at lifting my front 3" with the Toytec / Eibach coilovers. And looking at running the same sized tires. Putting that size on did you have to change out the Upper control arms? I'm worried about the tires rubbing and also alignment. Any mods to make them fit?

They fit great. Only thing I had to do when I did not have the spacers was trim the skid plate and take off the mud flaps on the front bumper. When I put the spacers on I had to take off the other mud flaps on the front wheel well and push back the plastic in the bumper with a heat gun. Tires feel great. Can cruise 90 all day. Super smooth

Man, I lean one way like no way those tires will fit then I'm like they will totally fit. But you have a 14, same lift basically and able to run size tire I want with just skid plate trim and front bumper mud flaps. No spacers and not new UCAs??

Why did you end up putting spacers, for the stance? You have any pics of without and with? I so want to run the 285/65s but get information back and forth. Did you just have the tires installed and basically they fit. Think I"m going to install the lift and then take some measurements and see what I"m working with.

Yeah. I drove home from the shop and cut the skid plate and removed the mud flaps when I got home. I just put spacers to stick the tires out further. The spacers make the tires rub worse. Stock everything except tires and 3/1 spacer lift. I mean I am going bigger for my next tires and probably nock it down to a 1-1.5 inch spacer so I can fit 295/65r20. The 285/65r20 are perfect don’t rub on UAC or anything with out spacers(once skid plate trimmed mud flaps removed)First pic with spacers 2nd without. Most people say you need spacers to fit bigger tires. That is not 100% true. If u got over a 285 and u might could fit a 295 u don’t need spacers. I’ve been trying to find a 11.5/37r20 and I might even go with that because I did find out nitto makes one.I wish I could find a 285/75r20 (36.8) because that would fit because it is the same width.

I put a 6" pro comp lift with spacers up front and fox shocks in the back. Rides like new. I will eventually upgrade to fox coil overs but it rides great. However, my mud, and off road days are over so the drop bracket doesn't bother me.

If I were u I would go 285/65r20. The spacers rub around the cab mount and on the bumper.

Wow, you're like a book of knowledge! See that's what I'm looking to run, 285/65 with no spacers. I do like the look of the little wider stance but would rather stay without them. You say they rub worse, where with spacers? What size you running since you knock them down to 1-1.5"?
I can't see where there would be any difference in your stock setup and mine, just year and model trim. I had another guy tell me the same thing, was running 285/65 and had no problems after skid plate trim and bumper mudflaps. But then had a guy that said he had to drop to 275/65 cause 285 wouldn't fit.

Man the 37s or the 285/75s would look killer!

Yeah, that's what I think I'm set on now, the 285/65 with no spacers. I love the look of yours but don't want the rub. Funny how some say you need spacers to run them and in your case the spacers rub and without doesn't. Crazy.

What sized spacer you running now?

I run Spidertrax 1.25” with 285/55/20 and 2.5” Bilsteins front only. I’m wanting to move up to 285/65/20 what do you think? Will i have major running? I kinda don’t want to get rid of my spacers as i have Fender flares and looks better.

With the 1.25" did they clear the stock studs? I had heard that some saying they had to go 1.5" to clear and not cut the studs.

No they fit perfectly didn’t have to cut anything. No problems at all.

For the type of driving you do many guys go with our chase kit setup, its a great option for longevity and improved ride in the dirt without losing pavement driving quality. Yes its a bit more than your common spacer setup. But the upper control arm paired with a set of king coilovers will last the life of the truck. They can be serviced, rebuilt with new internals after many miles of hard driving, and tuned if desired. But its a suspension system, not a common lift with extra drop down brackets that need to be tend to due to bolts working loose over time.
