Guys I had a 2008 limited crewmax, I sold it at 180,000 figuring I was nearing major repairs. I bought a 2012 crewmax with 44,000. It ran and drove just like the one with 180,000. It now has just 258,000. I run mobil1 with fleetguard oil filters with 10,000 mile oil change intervals. I drive 182 miles a day( all highway). I do oil samples and there is nothing in my oil. No metals, no fuel,no carbon, no antifreeze. I'm shooting for 400,000 .

This is a good thread. How many high mileage 3rd gen’s with the 5.7L are out there?

I’ll be running 7,500 mile oil change intervals and fully expect to get 300K+.

Had 300,000 miles on my last Toyota pickup.

If I can get 550k out of a 3/4 ton Chevy then you should be able to do the same with proper maintenance. Don't skimp on your oil and filters. I also use top tier fuel (Shell, Chevron, Exxon, etc.) and i like to run a can of SeaFoam in my tank at every oil change. Also, jackrabbit starts and stops are murder on your engine.

When does the oil change light come on in our Tundras, I thought it was every 5k miles?

Found this thread from a Google search. Really enjoying the replies.

    I'm looking at a 2011 with the V8 4.6. 163k miles.

    What do you all think?
