    Nope

What did they say was wrong and what are they going to do?

Rear main seal, scoped it and ran dye through it to check other areas just in case. Dealer filled out a big report to toyota since they want all the details. My gut tells me this a bigger problem like the cam tower leaks and they show up slowly. No excuses for any powertrain with this low miles to be leakiing oil and I don't care who makes it. Now I just feel like all the ford, chevy and ram guys do. How many miles did you put on after the fix? Did it feel the same?

I think I put about 15K on after the second fix when they seated the pins to factory spec... ran like the day I bought it the entire time I owned it.

Glad they are getting Toyota involved... and don't worry... they will get her buttoned up right. I found Toyota very good to work with... I was respectful on the phone, but made it clear the reason why I switched from Ford to Toyota was their reputation for reliability and was hoping to own the truck for many years... that's when they came through with the really nice warranty. Keep us posted! Good luck!

The fact they did it twice scares me but what can I do at this point. I'll keep my fingers crossed, lucky I have a good dealer to work with. Will update on what they give me for a loaner!

Update, after having it back since December 4th and looking underneath tonight, its still leaking. It took them two days to do the work (when they told me they needed it for a week) and they told me that the rear main seal was not the problem. It was a square plate that covers the rear main that had 2" of RTV sealant that was missing. This is applied by a robot at that factory. Well obviously that's not the problem and I honestly think "a" part or "some" part is defective. I have a case with toyota but this guy was supposed to call me in one business day and it's been 5. I called yesterday and was again told one day, clarified that would be today and no call. Not impressed and definitely not amused.20171219_223859.jpg 2099_1513742159604.jpg

Ugh! So frustrating!!! I feel for you, man... keep pestering them with the calls... try to get them to send one of Toyota’s super mechanics out to look at it or do the work. When mine was leaking, they found some pins that align a plate that were not sunk to spec they tapped them in and it fixed it for as long as I owned the truck... but keep after Toyota.., good luck and keep us posted!

I cleaned it up, and today I seen this. It’s hard to see but there’s a fine line of oil around the upside down U

That’s awesome Jim I’m glad your experience has been awesome with Toyota! My dealer has been pretty good too! I just hope this is my last leak, like you said truck is feels and drives solid, just a little leaky lol. Thinking thru this, it still suck but I guess a leaky seal or sealant is better than electric problems that start fires, or engine blowing up or other major drive train issues.

Mines a leaky sob. But I have 280000m on it and it’s never let me down. Doesn’t leave drop marks on any pavement. It seems like more of a stain on the bell housing. Snapped a pick on the oil pan also cause it has the same issue. Oh and I’m part of the cam tower leak gang too :(

Don’t mind the cv axle staining. That’s because I recently replaced them and didn’t wipe up. What’s the point on this hunk :anonymous:

Did you have the cam tower leak fixed? I’m in the club, both sides with only 15K. Still debating if I should get it fixed or not. If it doesn’t get any worse, I can live with it. AND... if it will still be going at almost 300K miles, why tear apart a brand new motor? Ugh. I hate these dilemmas!

Mines never been fixed. Doesn’t seem to effect anything but cleanliness. Doesn’t seem to go through oil or anything. Same as underneath just stainy messes

My 2014 limited had rear main seal leaking since day one.Had to take it in to fix it under warranty .No leak after fix.
Now it looks like my 2018 also has same leak but more minor. Didnt take it in yet. Looks like toyota had assembly problems .Kinda sucks to need major tear down on a brand new truck:(

I would get it fixed! Got mine fixed and glad I did. They did a way better job than factory did. And it runs like the day I bought it!
Now hopefully this rear main seal is my last leak until 1million miles! :fingerscrossed:

Wipe it and check back in a few days ,might be just a spill during initial fill up.I had same thing on my 18 .Wiped it and its bone dry for over a year already. My 14 limited had oil leaking in the same spot since i bought it new, turned out to be a rear main seal leaking from the factory.Dealer had to drop transmission and reseal.

Update. turns out it was a crack in my upper oil pan . Dealer said it more than likely came that way from factory and was fixed under warranty .

I just started noticing oil drops on my garage floor after doing an oil change last weekend...I crawled underneath assuming my drain plug might need tightening but to my surprise, the bellhousing had the infamous leak...dammit! I wiped everything clean and will monitor but it's likely only to get worse...what does a RMS cost on a 2014? Trying to justify how fast I should do this...

Anyone have a rough guess? I'm assuming close to $600+...?
