Yeah, camber was way off. Time to pick a bone with a dishonest shop.

On a positive note, I just bombed down a desert trail going like 60 mph and it rode increadible. Very happy with this setup.

Your truck looks fantastic Kevin. That's a huge job singlehanded in a driveway. Nicely done!

I really appreciate, Jim. Couldn't have done it with out the help of the forum. Theres nothing better than getting greasy and turning wrenches on my own truck.

    @BlueFalconActual
Kevin, the instructions with my TRD Pro suspension kit included steps for a Zero Point Calibration - a key player in the truck's stability system.
Apparently, if not recalibrated, the VSC can trigger unexpected power loss following suspension mods involving a lift or level.
The recalibration is done by Toyota using TechStream. DIY methods for the foolish can be found on this or other forums.
Just something to consider if your truck surprises you while accelerating up a curving interstate on-ramp.

    Best Regards,

Thanks for the heads up. The guys at the second alignment shop knew all about that and did it for me.

I just finished the install of my 6112/5160 setup. I put the front on the top setting, drove it a few miles, mostly unpaved. It settled in quite a bit. Looks like I got close to 3 inches. Hoping it settles down to the advertised 2.5. I've got 1.5 inch shackles in the back. Does the zero point calibration have to be done with any lift or just when you change the rake? I should be at about one inch different than stock. By the way, the new bilies are awesome!

Thanks for the tip on breaking the lower ball joint to control arm Brian. That is way better than the way others, like Fabtech show, disconnecting the upper ball joint. Saved me a ton of time and hassle. Took 2.5 hours in the driveway. Half as long as the first time!

Oh yeah, anybody got the torque specs for the suspension? I've seen a couple different things that are way far apart. One that says something like 280 lb/ft another I think said 118 lb/ft for the two bolts between the ball joint and spindle. Probably the 118?

So did you remove the LCA completely or simply loosened up the bolts?

Am asking as I plan to replace mine since the LCA knuckle-boot is compromised, after installing the 6 inch lift kit

eBay selling the LCA for under $60

Looks good, I'm thinking about doing this with my truck. I only ever do light off roading couple times a year. Is the trucks on road performance impacted in any way like leaning around corners?

In the middle of my 6112 install and so many issues. Do I tighten the lower control arm bolts after the truck is on the ground or in the air. Hoe do I get a torque reading on that silly nut on top of the strut mount??? When I try to tighten it with my torque wrench it just spins...

    Hey Brian,
I’m using your step by step on the front coilovers, came across this. I have everything loose per your instructions but I still don’t have enough room to pull out my factory coilovers, they have 3.5” spacer bolted to the top. I’ve tried everything short of unbolting the LCA’s (tying to avoid that). My question is as you said above, will the lowers push down if you stand on them? I’m installing Toytec Boss 3”.

They might go down far enough if you really push down hard or put all your weight on there. 3.5" spacer on the top might be a bit much to get them out this way however.

I agree, my easy swap turned into an all day "get nowhere" project. I called a shop thats worked on my truck before they said $180 for the install seems fair

What are your thoughts on setting the Boss coils to 3.5"? Will that additional 1/2" be felt in a negative way?

I had to loosen my control arms to install my 6112. I used a 6 foot breaker bar and had my boy stand on it while I put the 6112 in. Make sure to mark you LCA cam bolts while the truck is sitting on all 4 tires. Then lift it up and do your install. Put it back down and line cam bolts back up and tighten.
