This was confirmed by the truck readout or hand calculated?

When I did it to mine, i confirmed by hand calculating. ^^^

I have a feeling it will happen to me again since there was no reason why it did it in the first place. Not sure why mpg goes down all of sudden and then resetting the ECU works, but this was my experience. Glad it worked out for you OP, keep an eye on it and see if it starts to go down again.

Hand calculated, my truck is plain Jane I don't have any of the digital read out. Interstate driving 17.91, Highway 18.45 MPG. I will take that.

That’s damn good mpg, especially driving at those speeds.

In other breaking news, Toyota adds 4.6 v8 to the tacoma:burnrubber:

Man, I wish it was true. The 4 cylinder option is almost worthless considering how heavy the tacomas are. The v6 is gutless enough, a small v8 would be heaven. Sad to say it will probably never happen:(

They did put it in a 4runner. I can’t remember what years or for how many, but that was pretty cool. Too bad they were the ugliest body style.

The Tacoma V6 is pretty gutless, but it's brutally tough. My work truck has 270k miles on it and keeps on going. I was told by a stranger once, while we were talking about Tacomas, that the V6 Toyota puts in the Tacoma is actually a bus engine, that's why it goes forever. Anyone know if this is true?

You’re right, the 4.0 v6 is pretty stout. I have a 2007 tacoma with the 4.0. It has ok power with decent off the line ability but it runs out of breath, it is a work horse though. Sorry, I should have been more clear in my previous post. I was referring to the 3.5 v6 in the current Tacoma’s. Come on, 265 torque @4600rpm:eek2: hell, the 4 liter was bad enough at 4000.
