I scrub it like you would using a two bucket method. The foam cannon is just an applicator.

What I do is rinse with pressure washer first, and get all the heavy stuff off. If it’s real bad, I’ll pre soak it in something like Ammo Frothe.
Then I use the foam cannon, and let it sit about ten minutes. I’ll then mist it, to make sure it’s still lubricated, then go over it with mitts or towels.
    Rinse off and dry.
If it’s hot outside and the sun is out, don’t bother. It will all just dry on before you get it clean. Do it early morning or late evening for best results.

I think you could get away with foaming, letting it dwell, then power washing sometimes, especially if you have a good sealant on there. but not when you have visible dirt. You'll still need to get a soapy mitt on there. The idea of pre foaming is to lift debris from the paint and rinses it away. Thus removing stuff that can cause swirls when you use your wash mitt. For some with ceramic coatings, the wash mitt step can often be skipped as I understand it.

Thanks, yeah I am getting all the yellow tree pollen and heavy dirt now, I have no wax on it ! So I’ll need a heavy cleaning and maybe wax it after if I could find a good detail shop in San Antonio!

Dude skip the wax. Get yourself a spray sealer like hydro2 or reload or bead maker. So much easier and lasts longer.

My wash process, when using the foam cannon....is foam, let dwell, rinse.....foam it again, and proceed with one bucket/multiple mitt hand wash...rinse. There are soaps out there marketed as a pre-wash, such as Gyeon Foam and Angel Wax FastFoam, which supposedly do a better job at breaking down dirt and/or road film. I've not tried any of these yet, but Apex Detail has some videos on his YouTube channel about these soaps.

So far, the best foam I've gotten from my setup (SunJoe SPX3000 electric + MTM PF22 cannon) are....in this order....#4 Jay Leno's Vehicle Wash, #3 Chemical Guys Honeydew snow foam, #2 Mastersons Mystic Snow Foam, and #1 Griots Garage Surface Wash.

It seems that some are thinking that the foam cannon is just a spray on, rinse off wash. It’s not. You still have to agitate it to get good results. Even with a ceramic coating, you still need to wash with towels.

    Sorry for all the questions.

What is the two bucket method of washing a truck?

    one bucket for soap
one bucket to wring out the mitt or microfiber.

I use grit guard as well. reduces or minimizes swirl marks.

Like Woody said, it’s a way to keep towels rinsed, making sure you don’t put dirt back in your soap bucket.
I prefer the “just use a shitload of towels” method.

I use three buckets in total. one for tires only. Then the traditional two bucket method. I add another layer of protection from swirls by (and I think I saw the guy on one of the Youtube channels do this (Dallas Paint Correction possibly??)) is to spray the wash mitt off with your pressure hose before putting it into rinse bucket. Just remember to hold on to the mitt well. Last night I ended up blowing the wash mitt onto the ground. Threw it in the "to be washed" pile and had to grab another wash mitt.
