So I am thinking of trading my Tacoma for a Tundra. I can afford it . My new job requires a higher towing capacity. Take a look.

    I just came from a 2015 Tacoma into a used 2010 tundra

I came away from the change like this....

The mpg loss isnt that bad. My taco got 17mpg combined. The tundra is getting 16mpg (although this week I've had the worst commute I've had in a year so I expect that to go up slightly)

The towing capacity alone should sway you

The physical room inside is amazing

The road manners are actually better IMO

Its size is annoying a little (I use a lot of parking structures for work, made some friends with low hanging signs)

Aftermarket products seem solid. Tacoma parts are a dime a dozen. Literally every manufacturer, fabricator, and mod shop has a tacoma product to sell. Tundra seems to be no different.

381hp, 401ft/lb torque. Nuff said. She boogies.

All in all, I'm glad I took the opportunity to get into a full size truck. I rented a 2019 Silverado while our insurance dealt with the loss of the taco. Wasnt a fan. Drove decent. Got good mpg. Just didnt feel like a truck to me. Seats were too soft and squishy. Suspension felt like an old Cadillac. This tundra has no hidden agenda, isnt trying to be anything else. It's a truck. A real truck.

    Do it.

Also, do not trade it in. Tacomas are worth gold. My 2015 with just shy of 100k got me almost 25k. I paid 27k 3 years ago when it had 11k on it. Sell it privately if you can.

Thanks for the info Bro..I had the chance to drive every full size truck over the last 2 months(except Siverado), The interior of the Tundra was the best. MPG not too concerning. Work pays for gas.

During our hunt we drove the new f150, that was the only truck that really had me leaning away from toyota. Fx4 package. 10 speed trans and 5.0 v8. Felt good. But 46k was out of the question. And still being new, I couldnt trust fords QC. The tundra has an issue with cam towers leaking on almost all the 5.7 from what I've seen. But I have yet to hear or rear about any catastrophic failure. More like a drip that isnt even noticable between oil changes. Without a doubt I would say do it. I dont know if they all have 38 gal tanks now but that's on my list of things to do is swap out my 26 for a 38. Beyond that I say do it

I bought s 13 crewmax tundra last year which is my run around on weekends truck.the tundra you are looking at looks a lot like my tundra.KEEP THE TACOMA AND BUYTHE TUNDRA!! You won't regret it.

I just upgraded from the taco to a tundra and couldn’t be happier. I do miss the tacoma but the Tundra is sweet.

The tacoma is 2010 with 96000 miles. Only 2 owners. KBB is between 12-15 Gs. I was hoping it would be more.
