I haven’t seen anyone post about these struts, so I’ll give them a try. They just came in today and I probably won’t get to install them for at least 2 more weeks. I’ll report back after installation is complete. My current setup is a 6 inch ProComp stage 1 which consist of a top hat spacer and a preload spacer. The new Rough Country 6 inch strut eliminates the top hat spacer and the preload spacer which should smoothen out the ride although it’s pretty smooth already. It does indeed utilize the OEM coil. I will easily be able to tell the difference due to driving around on my current setup for the last 5 years. 250 bucks seems worth it. This is definitely for me because I refuse to spend a 1000 bucks for other coils ! Lol

I have them on my truck no complaints here. Have had them for about 2 months now. The ride is nice. 20190306_143258.jpg

Something else I did because of the time it takes to take them all apart I just got some take off springs from another truck. And powdercoated then got the new struts put together before installing. this was my old set up exactly what your talking about .

Yea idk the difference besides the numbers lol. But I have heard good and bad about the n2.0 I think one of the bad was from you. Didn't you put a bigger bumper on your truck and the shocks are not holding well ? Maybe I'm wrong may be thinking of someone else lol

Did you split the bottom and remove the strut downward ? Or did you loosen the top uca bolt and remove the strut from the top ?

Well about that these are a bit** to get in. The driver side we ended up pulling the CV axel out of socket ended up replacing it . big oops so I suggest at the very least to lossen the hub nut and free up that CV axel with pulling down the knuckle to get it in their. As for the pasenger side we just took all of it apart. Because at that point I had to get it re aligned. It was.not a great experience but now it was well worth it.

All in all if I was you I would split the bottom and just get it re aligned after.

I've watched both ways on youtube. It looks like splitting the bottom will eliminate the axle coming out. You just have to use a floor jack to raise the bottom control arm back into place. Thanks for your pics.

Finished today ahead of schedule. My buddy bailed on me last minute, so I called him an asshole ! Lol, It’s a pretty easy job. I did not remove the top spindle nut because I did not want to take a chance on the axle coming out. I split the bottom at the two bolts and then removed the strut. Picture included. 4 bolts total, sway bar, bottom shock mount and the 2 bolts under the LCA. I have to admit, I’m impressed. Very Very smooth ! A quick trip to the alignment shop and the day was over. Definitely worth getting rid of the preload spacer for 250 bucks. And my buddy finally showed back up with Carne Asada burritos in hand !

Ok not sure it must be the different yrs between yours and mine but the spaces between each coil on th springs look more gaped on yours then mine. I'm starting to think mine I bought where after market . Screenshot_20190405-070500_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20190405-070412_Chrome.jpg

@Mnorris1206 you original spacer pic definitely shows a thinner preload. Maybe that changed the spacing on the coils. Not sure if it matters but the bottom of your coil doesn't look like its back up against the metal stop.

@jeremyd so it is a better ride?

@Berdine you have the N2? So do I, but haven't put on, they look poorly made

There is a website I'm trying to find it, they have Bilstein struts for a 4-6 kit

Yeah, I've had mine almost 2 years now. The ride was ok at first, then slowly got worse. I added a bumper/winch and they're sagging now. I try to avoid bumps in the roads
