Rear Sway bar

Asking for pros and cons to adding the rear sway bar to my 14 CrewMax. I have the opportunity to pick one up cheap. Thanks in advance for your opinions & advice...

 

The rear won't articulate as much for off-roading , but the on the street manors is a night and day difference.

 

+ should have more stability while cornering and towing, less body roll

- less articulation while off roading, when the suspension on one rear wheel is compressed, it will also compress the other side. I believe someone one here was trying to come up with a quick disconnect to temporarily disable the sway bar when going off road. Not sure what the outcome was...

I think someone one here said they were having problems with bed bounce after install, but I would imagine that has a lot to do with their current suspension setup and weight distribution.

 

I'm in the same boat, thinking of getting one. I don't do any off roading, all street.

 

Same here 99.9% on the streets. 4x4 gets me off some slimey boat ramps here in Fla...

 

I love mine. My girlfriend hates it since she gets pinned to the door or console when I corner now Guess that what the passenger side "oh shit" handle is for!

 

A sway bar will not limit or reduce the amount of articulation in the rear. It will only slow down the rate at which it happens. Do it. If you plan on driving on the street more than dirt and don't have intent of going long travel it works extremely well. I removed mine because i'm LT.

 

Thanks, that info kinda took me by surprise. I've seen your truck. I'm guessing you know a lot more about suspension than I do..ha ha.

 

Been using one for about a month now and have noticed a huge different right away. Primarily just normal drive, road and such, so no thought to off-road affects. My wife who doesn't give a whoop about vehicles also noticed the handling on our first drive out once it was added. I give it a

 

Enjoy your sway bar, it adds about 5mph of confidence in the corners lol. Mine is still sitting in storage trying to find itself a good use lol.

Will this fit if you have a lift kit in rear with toytec shackles?
