Any more long-term feedback on this? Considering it as it seems like a cool set up, but I'm wondering if it's realistic to lift the cover with 2-4 bikes on top? Any quality issues?

I was pretty close to getting one of these and decided against it. My wife has a heavy 29er and my 5010 is pretty heavy. With my kid's bike, both dealers I spoke to said it was unlikely the arms would work very well. Both questioned whether the arms were beefy enough to work as advertised and one offered to upgrade the hydraulics. It's expensive enough.

I don't want to shove a stick in there to keep it up, like one guy in a review said he has had to do. During camping season we need to get in there a lot, so it's not going to work for us.

Yea that was my gut feeling too. Bummer that so many of these things seem to not be as well made or complement the build quality of our trucks.

I'm trying to figure out the best system to haul at least two bikes and a cargo basket, or 4 bikes, over a secured system. I'm eyeing the diamondback, but I like to use wheel-on racks, and with cargo bars, the cover opening would be somewhat useless.

Also looked into a cheaper cover and some of the KB Voodoo bars, but still not totally sold.

Just got mine delivered. Instructions say to remove factory rails. Did all of you with factory rails remove them to install these? Thought it would bolt into the factory rails.

Agree, this is disappointing to hear. I have a Space Trailer (www.spacetrailers.com) and even loaded with 2 bikes and 2 kayaks, the arms are strong enough to lift the top up.

I’m sure we can find a stronger shock to replace them with.

    Onto the Install!

Does anyone have an issue with the rear weatherstrip? Mine doesn’t make a good contact. Water drizzles in from where it meets on the tail gate.

Hi all, just joining the group moving in from a ‘16 4Runner.

Ready to pull the trigger on the ridgeliner cover and wanted to ask if anyone has a bed extender with this cover or does this cover prevent it from working?

Thanks for sharing all the great info, it’s super helpful as a lost new Tundra owner :)

Thanks for sharing. This helped me make up my mind not to get this kit. I've done SnugLid and ARE fiberglass tonneaus on my last two trucks and was looking for something different. Thinking of going back with a cap (ARE Z) or another SnugLid tonneau. Diamondback looks great but my new '19 might be too pretty for it, lol.

I have the same water issues. I'm very disappointed. The seal at my tailgate doesn't touch except at the ends. Oddly enough, most of the water gets in at the corners and through the lock. It's pretty, but there certainly wasn't enough thought given to water protection on this thing and you have to figure it out yourself. It's never going to be as weather resistant as a hard cover that overlaps the bed. In fact, it's never going to be as weather resistant as it is supposed to be. If you need practicality, this is a waste of money. My pocket book is not happy.

    Hello all,
This is my first post and a very helpful tread when deciding on what to get on my new truck. I decided to get the Ridgelander because I had an Undercover on my last truck (non-Ridgelander) and I loved it. I thought I would share some pictures of the latest and greatest Ridgelander.
With respect to installation, it sucked a bit only because the factory bedliner covered the holes and we had to find them and punch a screwdriver through the liner to expose the factor screws. All in all, a non-issue (big picture).
With respect to the seal, they fixed the large gap that was shown in the video. It now has a wrap around seal (see pic).
Regarding the seal across the entire tailgate with a gap, I was able to quickly make adjustments to eliminate this.
I really like how the back seal is (see picture) and the locking mechanism is fantastic compared to my old Undercover.
I will also like to add that Rhino Rack components are very well thought out.
I have not had it in the rain yet but I will update when I do.

Hello all I find it interesting that they don’t make these for second gen 7-13 because I purchased one from auto anything back in spring of 2017 and it has held up amazingly with all the off roading I have done. I highly recommend however not sure why the removed 7-13 option. I started with rhino rack on my truck and that was one of the reasons I purchased the ridgelander was to stick with rhino rack. It has held up but like others have stated the gas shocks are weak. If my gas tanks are on there (empty or full) it will not stay up; however it will stay up with the pioneer platform, bike rack and 2 antennas mounted to it (gmrs and weboost). I highly recommend!! Yes water does enter a bit on the front corners but that doesn’t matter to much to me because its better than nothing and yes I had to remove the factory track system to mount the ridgelander track system which I like the idea if I wanted just to run rhino rack rails I can. I am now looking to add a RTT and need to check if I can mount ikamper. I also recommend bagging suspension as I am running icon full system 10 from SDHQ and rear hydraulic bump stops which serve for high speed stuff but not great for towing my camping trailer or not. Unloaded I constantly click my bump stops in the rear because of the weight of the tonneau, recovery gear box and spare now being back in my bed (sold hitch tire mount).

What’s the part number? They seem to not have it listed anywhere like they are discontinued.
