Getting called by scammers

One thing I like about my pixel 3xl phone I can have them talk to the Google servers and watch the show on my phone... They never call back

 

I got a text the other day from an alleged chick offering to be my girlfriend and blow me on a daily basis...as long as I followed the link she provided and presumably gave her all my personal and financial details.

That would be a lie. Everyone knows my girlfriends only accept Itunes gift cards as payment.

I replied with "May the fleas of 1000 camels infest your mother's nether regions.". Then I blocked the number. Great success

 

There used to be a couple of awesome apps, but they don’t work anymore.

One was prank dialer, which basically played recordings that sounded like a person was talking to them. It would record it and play it back to you. You could put whatever number you wanted to show up on caller ID. I didn’t get shit done for a week when I discovered that.

The other one was Evil Operator. It would make two people’s phones call each other, and record the conversation. It was pretty funny also, though could definitely be used for nefarious purposes.

Hate the calls but I’ve found a way to have a bit of fun. Depending on the language they speak, I’ve got some good replies setup on my Google Translate for them.

 

I got Robo Killer app plus Call Protect from AT&T no more calls

 

I get these calls also.. the spammers seems to be matching their phone number to match the first six numbers of mine.. ex, my number is 408-346-1234, most calls come from 408-346-xxxx. It's all bs, and someone trying to make a buck.

 

I entertain them. I'll chit chat with them or just say stupid shit.

Last week my phone was ringing and caller ID just said "Ohio". No number or anything. So I answered
"Good morning, do you know what's round on the ends and high in the middle?"

Excuse me?

"Do you know what is round on the ends and hi in the middle?"

Umm, no, no I don't.

"OHIO!"

Long pause.... oooooh that's funny because I'm calling you from Ohio!

"Yeah I know..." click

Legislators are working on new laws that may help slow the rate of the calls and carriers are finally giving consumers tools to help squash the unwanted messages, but for now the calls persist."

Looks like nothing much will change for the foreseeable future.

I've been engaging them lately, generally just to vent work frustration on people who make unethical living.
Medical Appliance calls? I'll go through the prompts to get someone and ask about Extended Warranty.
Extended Warranty calls, They ask to confirm my make and model, I turn it on them, you called me about my warranty, you tell me what I drive. or I ask about Time Share.
Time Share, talk about Medical Appliances or male enhancement.
Had one ask "do you work for us?" "I sure do and this call will go down on your review!"

You might look into lifelock too.
Something like this started with me and I got hacked ( from my iPad & phone) a month afterwards. At first I thought I was crazy...
Then it was all hands on deck to find the intruder. Life lock got them, took care of the intrusion.

Sometimes I will answer with "Eight ball pool hall who the hell did you call"
