Oracal 8300 light/dark gray is widely used in the window tint and vinyl wrap industry. I can vouch for the longevity of the film - on a well maintained, garaged vehicle I've seen it look great 5 years after install.

I have a well maintained outdoor driveway vehicle. Wonder how bad sun fades it ?

My only concern is going to be wrapping where that little fin is. I am sure I'll be able to do it, but I better attack there before I open my beers.

Eh.. Sun fade will be minimal. Oracal 8300 is manufactured to withstand the elements.

Like 801 said, Vivvid is the premier film. And the fins on the light arent that big of a problem. Id glass the vinyl in between finned area first with no heat, then heat with no tension over the fins, and then stretch with heat over the rear most section.

I plan on doing the whole thing. I'll take some before pictures with the lights and blinkers on tonight. Then I'll compare tomorrow night with the tint on. Or whichever night I do it.

I think I would do everything except the reverse light section meaning I would tint all the red section

I planned on doing the whole thing as well but if I cut out anything it be the white part. The red is what bothers me. I just don’t want it too dark to where brake lights aren’t visible enough. Might mess around with a few different shades

If I like it and the light output isn't enough it will give me a reason to get LEDs

The tail lights are hard to wrap because of 2 protruding nibs on the side. Whether you do whole or part, up close it'll look DIY.

These look tinted OEM and are only $126 (someone here has them):
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CFPT6Z...olid=2SAF21V3HP9UU&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

The 3rd light you could remove and wrap like me, or Plastidip the inside with a few passes, keeping the outside glossy. Either way, if you don't like, peel it off.

That was my initial concern. If it looks like poo I'll take it off and tint it myself with VHT nightshades.

Worst case scenario is I wasted 13 bucks. Definitely wasted more on some bad dates

I tried and just couldn't get it to stretch right over the nibs. I'd be weary using VHT and not getting it to look nice, it's kind of a one shot deal. Most VHT jobs I see look like this:

    DSC_0124_zps93e0f8ec.jpg

I ended up not doing anything, installed LED bulbs, and a Putco bar, erring on better visibility instead of darkening things out:

I've done several sets of tails and my worst was a run. The secret is really light coatings with it. Do a few practice runs on cardblard to get the distance and nozzle squeeze down.

If you mess up you can take it all off with rubbing alcohol.

That Genesis just has way to many coats on it. Almost looks like plasti-dip.

I did the third light with VHT nightshade and it looks good and has held up fine. It was easy because it is so small. Replacement LED ones required dropping the headliner, so I went the easy route. I also replaced the bulbs with LEDs while I had it apart. It is still plenty bright. I’d bet getting a consistent coating with the full tails would be tougher, but doable with enough patience.

FYI... That is not night shade. That's is smoked Plasti Dip. Night shade comes out shiney and see though even when sprayed by novice sprayers. Night shade comes out real nice when done proper and cleared with spray max 2k. Wet sand before and after clearing. Then buff out after 24 hours and they can look very professional. I sent spray max and Eastwood a YouTube message the other week for them to put out a 2k blackout line. Perhaps if everyone ask them enough times, eventually they will come through.
