I am currently looking at upgrading my brakes and so far this seems to be a reasonable option

Has anyone used these? Or have a better option?

Some reviews say they warp quick while others say they are the best ever.

 

I have these installed, i have about 40k kilometres on them, you will notice a difference in braking for sure.

My rotors did warp a tiny bit after the truck sat in the winter months here for about 3 weeks and the calipers got a little seized up.

If you go with them, make sure you follow their break-in procedure.

 

Did you notice better braking pulling a load down hill?

 

Yes, less fade. They arent really a replacement for a big brake kit though. If you tow heavy in hills more often then not i would spend the extra dough on a kit.

 

I have an '07 Tundra. I've had it for 9 years. I was having the rotors turned about every 6 months, because of noticable warp.
Over a year ago I had slotted rotors put on.
They have not needed turning yet, and I've put on about 26,000 miles.
I think the slotted rotors are an excellent upgrade, and I'd recommend them to anyone that uses their Tundra for a daily driver and puts on a lot of miles.
I'm at 255,000 miles and my baby runs, drives and looks like new.
I love my Tundra!

 

If you are looking for brakes for towing and general everyday driving either get solid or slotted rotors, if you are going to be racing or driving hard and no towing get drilled and slotted. The big brake TRD kit for our truck won’t give better braking they will give you basically the same braking with a percentage less of fading ( I don’t know what that percentage is though), almost forgot to mention they look cool as hell. They are larger so it takes more to heat them up.
I ran power stop drilled and slotted rotors on the front of my truck and I cooked them probably because of the two large hills that I travel down 5 days a week, had them on for maybe 10,000 miles, replaced them with a slotted only same maker and I’ve had those for 35000 miles. Power stop braking systems I think are as good as any other system out there but I also think that we put things on vehicles that we believe look cool but don’t support how we use our vehicle. Research rotors and pads before you buy, understand what each combination is designed for and than you will be able to make an informed decision on what your going to purchase.

I just installed the same kit tonight. After 32,000 miles on my 2017, I was getting some pretty bad wheel shake during braking on big hills (even though the pads and rotors were barely worn). These fixed the issue nicely. We'll see how long they last.

 

I've been looking to get the Z36 over the Z23. Mine has pulsating feel whenever I depress the brake pedal and I do like to drive/brake hard. I don't tow and not willing to spend a couple Gs on a big brake kit. Think the Z36 will be good for me. Would like to hear more inputs as I do hear these warp frequently. Not too hilly where I live. Is there a difference in rotors between the Z23 and Z36?

 

Sounds like you drive just like me. Get the Z36 and be done with it.

 

To update this, I bought the ebc rotors and yellow stuff pads.

They have worked great so far and have held up on a 5,000 mile trip from NC to Utah, Arizona, and Colorado. No fading on the largest longest grades like wolfs pass in Colorado, or black Mt in NC.
